Hello everyone, first post.
Back to wow after 12 years, lvl60 mage and warrior and made a alt Warlock lvl60.
I want to make a pvp build all around drain life
I want to make the legendary:
Claw of Endereth:
Drain Life now channels 100% faster and restores health 100% faster.
Conduit:
heals for 60% of the amount drained over 10 sec (ilvl200)
Talent:
Inevitable Demise
Requires Warlock (Affliction)
Damaging an enemy with Agony increases the damage of your next Drain Life by 15%. This effect stacks up to 50 times.
Idea is to use it when people not attacking me, or on different target or when i stun them or fear.
Did people test this? Any feedback on haste or mastery or crit if it affect drain lifes? I am wel aware of orher builds who might be better but i really want to try this out and really need your help with it in return i of course give feedback and do testing etc!
There is a talent inevitable demise it will add a stacking buff up to 50 that increases damage of the next drain life, its separate to the stacking damage as part of the debuff.
More agonys out on targets the faster it builds to 50 in the buff as its 1 per tick of dot so Moore targets with agony the faster it builds.
Lot of people seem to be running inevitable demise in PvP, seen some high rated people running with Drain soul (and iirc Drain soul requires you to be necro to perform optimaly with it anyway) but ID seems to be most popular choice in PvP so ye, it’s not only viable but the go-to so you’ll do fine.
Yeah this is also the thing people run for aff so yeah.
This though, feels bit like overkill. You have much better legos available as Aff. It’s gonna work but I think that you’d have better time with Sacrolash as your legendary, by far.
Otherwise yeag most of what you said is not only viable but the best things you can choose. Just the legendary is not optimal, ik it interacts with Drain life and you want drain Life spec but too much reliance on it won’t do you much good.
Hope this helped at least a little and good luck with Affliction!
Yeah Claw of Endereth is not a viable option, its only makes you OOM 100% faster, you dont get any benefit from it, Sacrolash is the BiS atm or you can use 2x Gate lego in some niche situation.
This idea occured to alot of people at the start of the expansion. But unfortunately Affliction is not really suited for this build. Of course you are asking; why?
2 main reason; 1. Your opponents are overtuned. WW, Arms, Fire Mages, Rogues etc. deal wayyy too much damage atm.
2. Affliction is the squishest caster spec.
When you combine these two, it means you can not sit still and try to outheal your opponent’s DPS. It’s just impossible. You would have to be constantly casting Drain Life while your healer is just spamming heals. Both you and your healer will just OOM before you do any significant damage to your opponent.
Because of this imbalance, Aff Locks are going for the Sacrolash legendary, which makes Corruption apply 50% slow. You basically kite opponents till high dampening and win there. Or sometimes you pop DS and Darkglare, they don’t LoS you and die to MR spam.
The slow lego isn’t the only viable option but its the safest option for consistency, remember you already have a 50% slow base line so really it only come into play because it cuts on much in demand gcds
If I was to pick a second lego to play with for affli it would be malefic wrath (the drain soul one) on a necrolord warlock, the set up required is high but someone showcased this and its currently one of the biggest one shot drains we have available if it pops off
Been experimenting with [Claw of Endereth] recently in PvP setting, it is quite nice actually.
To clarify what it does, it reduces the channeling time in half while still getting the full effect of dmg and healing of the original 4 seconds.
At 19% haste it is exactly 2.1 second.
Without any stacks of inevitable Demise it does like 1.8k dmg for me, I have ilvl 220 pvp gear.
At 50 stacks it does about 17k dmg to single target and 40-60k dmg on 4 targets with Soul Sort (depends on crits)
Rapid Contagion makes agony tick faster which means faster build up of Inevitable Demise, with agony on multiple targets you get 50 stacks very fast.
It heals for a lot! especially with the conduit Accrued Vitality, very easy to get back to full health in 2-3 sec.
I did not try it in any rated matches yet only in normal BGs and Arena skirmishes and it’s fun, you feel powerful because you’re not easy to kill with all the fast healing, was able to kill 2 players solo multiple times, also affliction lacks a “finisher” so this comes in handy for this purpose.
With this legendary you might want to change your playstyle a bit, taking Writhe in Agony instead of Absolute Corruption talent and focusing on dotting as many targets as possible with agony and using rapid contagion as the shard spender more than raptures unless you can cast freely then putting more dots and rapturing would be preferred.
For kiting melees you would have to use Curse of Exhaustion and since we are already GCD starved it becomes harder and you have to prioritize “survival” over dmg.
Yeah I thought about using it, but it is a pain to play with, your dots expire too fast to do anything meaningful, since our dots do crap dmg anyway you rely on rapture or other things for the actual dmg.
The only use I could think of is open world play, PvP or PvE.
