If you drop monthly fee it is not free to play game it is buy to play game (you still have to buy the game itself to be able to play). If you also get the game for free, then you got yourself a free to play game.

If someone wants to play this for free they can play the Starter Edition.

Being F2P tends to open up the doors for other forms of monetisation (i.e. imagine the mount store that we have now but 1000% times worse).

Yea long load screens, queue bugs, limited bag space unless you sub, all mounts are just a recolor of the 4 base ones, no different gear past 160cp…so fun…

Also look what happened to something like SWTOR when they dropped the sub.

F2P is…awful in SWTOR as you get so little it’s hardly worth playing.

They can continue to release a new store mount ever month and drop the sub fee… people for whatever reason seem to buy those store mounts…

It certainly seems going F2P is the death of so many. I personally don’t want to see that in WoW. I hate F2P models.

I absolutely hate free to play games. They are full of limitations I’m not going to buy my way out of. With a subscription I know I get access to the full game, and I know how much I spend every month without having to chose between shop items(which I wouldn’t do anyways - I’d rather quit than play a f2p game).
