If an item is at 1% drop rate it will be at that next time. Drop rates of items donât increase because youâve ran a dungeon a certain amount of times.
20 chances to get something is higher chance to get it than do it 10 times.
Trinkets and weaps are lower chance for sure. Took me 36x 14+ runs in BfA to get the trink from underrot on pally. Itâs not just a SL thing, range has always been rough haha.
The actual drop rate remains the same though. Doing it over and over just means you have another go at say⊠hitting that 1%. It still will only ever be a 1% drop.
For example, when i was trying to get the Deathchargerâs Reins mount over the years I ran it thousands of times. It would have been nice if the game increased drop rates of items the more you go into a place, but it doesnât work that way.
Yes, the drop chance per individual run stays the same, but cumulative chance to get it after x runs increases with x.

@OP: even if you would have done 20 runs, it would still be barely above a coin toss so far, 56% chance to have earned that item, presuming you timed all 20 runs.
Isnt it annoying when u stack with i lvl cause of a damn item and more specific a trinket cause i saw some ppl complaing like i do for this slot having lower drop rate than other slots?
Itâs kind of annoying yes. But itâs the same for all mmoâs. Lots of RNG in drops.
And given the fact that the alternative, was BFA where people had heroic raid gear after 3 weeks, i think iâm going to make my peace with shadowlandâs version.
I feel your pain. I havenât gotten a single gearpiece in my last 16mythic runs. Last weeks weekly quest gave me the same gearslot I chose in the weekly vault. My only gear with a high iLvl was either a crafted legendary, or bought on the AH, OR grinded in PvP which has the wrong stats for me anyway.
Thatâs just how the game is and will continue to be, until its inevitable downfall. I have tried to change my perspective as of late: Donât target specific gear, and have the lowest of the low of expectations.
Only thing I can think off is to stack players that have tank spec and for them to set in OS.
But it is still a hell to pull.
WDYM, rng trinket is fun, right? What were the actual outcomes : Stats (main, versi, crit, mastery, haste), heal, break cc and?
