Druid or rogue?

Since retail has pretty much no enjoyable content outside of raids i decided to give tbc another shot.

I have a druid and a rogue that i leveled some time ago, both at around lvl45.

Which class will i have an easier time finding groups as and doing non instanced content? Not too interested in pvp.

Also, i should probably mention that i have experience healing on a druid in retail but since you can’t easily swap between specs to do out of group content i’m not too sure that i want to heal.

My vote would be for druid for the following reasons:

  • easy leveling (travel form, self heals, stealth - also rogue but yeah -, ability to tank or heal dungeons)
  • great in PvE as tank and heal, not bad as boomkin, and cat dps can be good if you put a bit of effort (and you can off tank as well)
  • great in PvP: most meta healer, feral is fun but obviously not very meta, boomkin isn’t that bad either
  • druids rock hell yeah

For rogues, unfortunately they’re only good/sought after in PvP (where they are indeed very good). I think in PvE you may struggle a bit to get into groups

Edit: If you’re worried about doing non-instanced content as a healer, I think carrying boomkin gear may help with that (but don’t take my word for it as I play feral off tank/cat dps)

Play druid, spec moonking-healer hybrid get a main set of gear with either + dmg or + healing and have some pieces for the other role. You can dps or heal with this mix spec all the way up to raids from p1, but you will need 2 sets of gear when hiting hcs or raids.

Druids are always a welcome addition to any sort of group content due to their amazing versatility. And in fairness, they’re probably a bit more convenient to level, since you can adapt to any situation you might find yourself in (and heal).
I love playing rogue, but they’re kind of one-dimensional and are probably the least desired class for grouping purposes, as they offer little to nothing in terms of utility.

Both are top-tier in PvP, but seeing as you’re not interested in that, I’d go druid, for sure.

Honestly, I would say level a Shaman, I find them much more fun than druid or rogue.

If your aim is finding groups then druid is much more sought after,
As a tank you willl instantly find groups
As a healer you will find groups fast

For just doing quests druid is ‘better’ because you can take on more elites or linked mobs easily. Or run away and not die, rogue is less good at this.

With all that being said I just liked the playstyle of rogue more, but thats not what youre asking.

druid will always find groups quicker because u can do any spec, rogue will farm faster because engi/mining steamvaults farm is broken good
i would say druid if u want to have an easier time, rogue if u want to get more money out of 1 char, or have a more pvp focus

lol…and you think tbc-c will offer you anything outside of raids? xD
if you’re not interested in pvp? then wow is hopeless case.

I feel qualified to answer that since I play both and raid with both weekly

with the rogue, it’s hard to get a spot in anything weather its a raid or even heroic.
still doable but you won’t b anyone’s first choice. unless you already have a guild I would say it’s a bad time to be a rogue. but again if u enjoy the class then

with the druid, even though you say it’s not easy to swap u can still choose to swap sometimes if u like a change of scenery.
if you like to tank then it super EZ to dungeon or farm stuff outdoor in mass ( not Prot paladin or frost mage masses but still ok) also I have seen guilds recruiting Balance druid.

more things, you can be very flex in raid as feral u can be DPS or tank with but a change of gear + you bring innervate and combat res and the emergency Tranquility wich can save u a wipe
