Druid Tank - Wild Strikes and Survival of the Fittest and General Feedback

SoD is pretty fun so far. The balancing is all over the place, but that was expected.

TLDR:
Swap Wildstrikes with Savage Roar, so Tanks can use Survival of the Fittest.
Let Druids keep form when using consumables.
Next Phase Runes for Rage, Scaling, AoE/Threat

Some feedback from a druid tank, most important first:

Wild Strikes blocks the Slot for Survival of the Fittest.
Not a single group will accept you saying “Hey, i use the tank rune instead of WF!”
Please swap Wild Strikes with Savage Roar Slot, or Survival of the Fittest won’t be used most of the time.

This is Season of Discovery. Please let me discover using potions and engeneering as druid in their forms. Would love that <3

Would be nice, if these changes could be before the next phase. The other stuff is annoying, but not blocking something from being used.

Some considerations for next phase:

  1. Rage Rune
    New Tanks got pretty much unlimited and full resource on pull, warrior got some rage runes. Bear resource is on Era Level. Feels horrible and often times i can’t pool rage before the next group.

  2. A general scaling rune for tank skills of some sort, or at least for swipe.
    Static damage numbers can’t keep up with the new runes and item scaling of DPS.
    Swipe does 25 damage. On 3 targets. With no aggro increase. The use for this skill is pretty much non-existent at the moment.

  3. Don’t go overboard to trivialize tanking, but consider some Burst Aggro Spells/Runes for pulls with CD maybe. All people wanna instantly burst their new stuff into enemies like in retail. Not many people who can chill like in era, which is fine, but vanilla tanks weren’t made for that.

Agreed, it sucks to have to choose between WF and tanking, that feels like an impossible choice. However, putting Savage Roar and SotF on the same slot would face Feral DPS with a similar conundrum. Ideally, I would just add Survival of the Fittest on the talent tree, rather than as a rune.
And on a personal note, in my opinion the tank rune should not be giving 6% reduced crit chance, but instead 3% as the talent originally was in TBC. To me, it’s a key part of being a tank that you have to look out for defensive stats and gear correctly for the occasion. I do not enjoy the thought of completely ignoring defense rating / resilience. Cutting the defense rating requirement in half felt really nice and it was very doable to remain crit immune through rings, cloak, neck, trinket, one or two gear slots. But I don’t know, I’m probably alone in this.

Thats fine imo , u dont need sotf at all , most paladins and wars tank raid with 2h instead of shield , so u having 20% dr is very small gain for healers and their mana compared to dmg boost of wf .

How so? Am I just being dumb right now or would this not change a thing for feral DPS? Feral DPS doesn’t want SotF, we’d still use wild strikes, savage roar, mangle.
