For example, the early design of the Drums in the beta today doesn’t include a change that we’ve put in to remove the additional resource costs on the Greater Drums. I think you’ll see that in next week’s new build of the beta.
What i dont get though, is players are apparently desperately wanting a change to drums, right? So that the raid can benefit from a haste buff without having to pay the price of having everyone be a LW, right?
So basically they want a big fat QoL change added to the game that wasnt there originally, right?
Now, ask yourself, where has that come up lately?
In my opinion, if you want the haste buff, pay for it with LW’ers.
To me it seems like blizzard are looking at other buffs with a standard and greater version, for example, paladin blessings
5mins no cost, single target
15mins, reagent cost, all players of same class
It seems reasonable to me that drums should follow, a standard version, available early in the prof levelling process which has a limited effect and then a greater version available at max prof level, with a slightly higher cost (mats are easy enough to farm, and 1 or 2 extra mats for the full 50 charges is minimal, really) which effects more targets.
It’s more that the drums will require pretty much everyone to be a leatherworker.
Which is what we don’t want.
Why would you take a non leatherworker, when somebody with LW will give you greater benefits due to the drums?
You’re effectively gimping the raid by not being a leatherworker, similar with going to raids without world buffs.
This is not a “QoL” change bud, its literally deleting almost half of the profession slots of a raid.
Also, every tax has a reason, so what is the trade off of this “min max tax” you are talking about? I don’t see any harm in the game for adjusting it?
They literally even talked about a drums change at blizzcon.
This isn’t classic with its “no change” meme - TBC was announced with “some changes”. If I’m being forced to play a game with a god damn boost then at least let me compete / min max without that degenerate 20 man LW restricition that TBC is infamous for.
Ah so changing the game to suit your demands of not needing to be a LW is ok?
Also I said nothing of a tax.
You want to be playing outland, level to 58 is what they say.
You want permanent haste buff, take LW’ers I say.
I think by the time we get to launch the greater drums will be fleshed out quite well.
I just enjoy the hypocrisy in asking(demanding) that they change drums for what is a QoL reason whether you agree or not but then protesting against a boost.
