There are probably multiple posts already about this subject, and a ton of comments, but I would like to make my own entry about this as well.
I would like to see dual talent specialization implemented in SoD. In my opinion it fits the discovery aspect of the game and it would be a nice quality of life improvement (just like the implementation of Revive for druids for example).
I really enjoy the both the PvP and PvE content in the game, but the talent build for either one, doesn’t suit the other. And apart from the costs from respeccing every time, it’s also just a hassle.
Besides it would also benefit hybrid classes like shamans and druids by a lot and perhaps improve the engagement of people to try out different specs.
I don’t like dual. I always like to be forced to make some compromise to make builds work in different scenarios, with an option to avoid this compromise but with some cost(reset). It feels right. With dual, you don’t have to make any compromises, and picking talents is more meaningless.
The problem is that many people are playing like robots, and any talent compromise is unacceptable for them. Even if it is not needed to have perfect talents for every scenario.
I have some understanding for healers and tanks. Maybe some compromise would work here too. If there would be dual spec but only available for different trees, but I am not sure about that.
Yes please. I’d love to try out multiple specs in different situations without having to abandon my raid build. It was unnecessary in P1 with only a handful of points to spend, but for P2 and beyond, having the necessary talent points to go all-in on a tree, this would be a beautiful feature completely compatible with the ‘player-friendliness’ of SoD.
all i have discovered in season of discovery so far is that i have to play whatever spec Devs made superior trough OP runes they dont have the resources to make all skill trees fun and engaging
the only thing that counts are trash pvp events and balancing classes by people who never played the game
hunter pets have received more attention than some classes combined
Imagine the thought process of this people, it’s probably something like this.-
“If we give them dual spec, they might demand that different talent trees actually work. We can’t do that at the moment because we don’t have enough resources.”
Playing hybrid classes the most i would really love to see dual spec. It’s just a quality of life improvement and gives me the chance to swithc faster between my favorite speccs.
it is the blizzard stubbornness that ruins the game. They don’t want to add dual spec, they don’t want to add dummies, they don’t want to add scaling to abilities, they don’t want to touch any existing talent trees, they don’t want to touch how stats work for each class.
All they do is tweak the rune numbers a little bit up or down, ofc no rework, replacesments or rearrangement of any way.
Their solution to all problems is easy leveling so player can play the fotm class.
I do not like the fact that game have both PvP and PVE aspects in it, but yet you can have only 1 spec. What works for PVE in most cases don not work for PVP, and the opposite. GL raiding in current meta-based SoD community,( which will not take you in pug if you are not right class, have not required minimum GS, checking your logs etc. all that for lvl 40 content) with compromised spec, also GL on not losing fights on PvP which you would win if with right talents.
We can swap those runes which made a lot of mess, why would not be possible to switch talents too? Well, then runes must be locked to your talent build and you have to chose wisely to make a universal build. What about that?
Yes, they do not want to add all that, do not want to make quality of life changes, but keep adding TBC, WOTLK and beyond skills to the game, which make all that mess…
Hush it dude.
Dual ftw 10char
As someone that chronically respecs 5 times a day, I don’t see a need for dual spec, not while respec costs remain this low.
Like put in the OP, it’s only cost related. It’s also just an improvement of playing quality in general. Just like the summoning stone for warlocks for example.
I’d prefer to have a book in inventory that lets you respec paying the normal price, without going to city every time
More like paying a much higher price than in a city. That would make sense, and it would be a good compromise.
Give players to reset talents for free in the character panel or in the talents panel itself, no double specialization required.
I think that is a bit too easy to gain. There should be a little compensation from the player side.
We are not in 2004, seeing how lazy people are to leveling their character, rubbing their pants in scarlet monastery.
Something I thought about today was; What if they can’t implement it because it isn’t as easy as just copy pasting the code into era?
Now if that’s the case and it just is not possible to do it then they should just tell us in advance instead of us stringing us along with “maby l8r uwu!”
Isn’t the whole point of classic play again these old or old-like games? If you want to change it to something where you don’t have to visit even the trainer again, you should go play the newer expansion.
I was wondering, when was introduce Dual Spec before ? I mean which expansion ? I don’t remember.
And rn for SoD, should they move to the TBC or Wotlk client to grant access to dual spec ?
This way they might add news things for the P3 and P4. I know it’s not that easy and will take time for the devs, but at some point, maybe it’s the best solution for the evolution of SoD ? Maybe that can help to modify HL and future raids from 40 to 25 as well idk
it’s almost like there are realms to grind the tired 20y old game already, if only i could think of the name…
