Well, it’s clear by now that the developers are willing to go the distance and allow classes the choice. Frost DKs and windwalker and brewmaster monks can choose between 2H and DW. Fury warriors even got SMF which gives them the choice between 1H and 2H DW.
My request is to give Survival hunters DW as well. We can do that already, all you need to do on your part is to unlock the abilities when we DW.
Just to add something on the original point of the thread:
I always felt giving Hunter 2h as a primary melee weapon was a strange choice. I would LOVE to get my “stat stick” back for the ranged specs to use for an odd CD ability once upon a blue moon…but the Hunter spec that primarilly uses melee should have been DW.
I imagine the reason was item distribution across all specs/classes in the game…but in all honesty: The Legion system with no weapons on loot tables at all was BY FAR the best way to handle weapon drops in the history of WoW, IMO.
2nd because in classic and etc we could use it, so same thing than the OP said if frost DK can get 2 handed why not dual wield for survival
3rd point is because polearm is very limited to be given, when with dual wield Windwalker / rogue or other classes can give you weapon if you need them or you can give it to them.
If dual wield survival hunter it’s gonna be my melee spec !
Though the alts have to be smaller than the playing character. As funny as it would be to see a gnome attacking with 2 draenei it just wouldn’t be feasible.
Yes I do have a concept of “sensible” people-wielding.
Or atleast be a cosmetic Transmog option if dont wanna do it for design since they havent had it since wrath i think?
Like is0harm in being a cosmetic option unlike if normal could casue some balance problems.
