So I just came of a permaban for a false positive. And would really like it to not happen again. I’m assuming in my case that it is allowed to dungeon boost. But what did it flag me for so I don’t do it again in the future? Can we have some strict rules on it? Its all very vauge and I cant find anything proper after the GDKP change, if that changed anything. Also is it allowed to advertise it in the Trade/General/LFG chat? I’v seen talk about the trade service chat but in my understanding that is only on the retail version. So how do one go about doing it in SoD? What is allowed?
They want to be vague and they can’t tell you why their systems triggered on you, because if they say specifics then the bot/abuse people will just find work arounds and loopholes.
Hmm, I guess that’s fair. But for us that are not bots, how do we go about it so we are doing it the proper way at least, If we could get some vague guide lines at least!
Could be it, I currently have very little to no information on what happend. The ticket got resolved aswell, my plan was to ask directly in the ticket but was out of luck there. And at this point I’m to scared to do anything. I was bored for 7 days and dont want that to happen again!
Yeah I feel you, Alot of people don’t like it. Me personally I don’t mind it, Incursions at this point is good, but duskwood only gets you as far as 33, and Ashenvale starts at 37. and for me doing such a brainless activity as boosting for 12h dosn’t bother me and its good gold for it. So I want to keep doing it, but not at the risk of going on another vacation
Doing WTS in a LookingForGroup channel could also be it considering there is a flag for it inappropriate communication/boosting/deranking. Honestly the LFG channel is flooded with WTS and its either boost or summons, it’s pretty damn annoying and it should be dealt with.
If reason is “Unauthorized cheat programs (hacks)” (most likely it’s this reason because you said you got perma and it’s most popular reason for perma atm) that’s blizz system triggered that you farm too much instances and think that you are “bot”. It is not about chat spamming, it’s not about GDKP or something else. It’s ONLY about a fact that you farmed dungeons too long and blizz system think that you are “bot”. Also looks like it’s not about reports, it’s about some blizzard internal algorithms
Good riddance, boosting ruins the game (see vanilla classic).
boosting got so out of hand in 2019 you literally could not play the game legitimately even if you wanted to, in the end you had no choice but to buy boosts if you wanted to level.
really awful… that being said, i never heard of anyone getting banned for it… you must have done something different to trigger a ban.
what does “false positive” mean, exactly? you’re being really vague and if anecdotal experience is anything to go by, there is something to this story you are not telling us.
Yeah it might be annoying for those not looking for such thing, But the question is still if its allowed or not, Since the only information I found about it is the Trade Service chat
Yeah it was Hacks/Botting, Think I did 37 that day, and about 10ish the day before. So, I can still do it, just not very long? Haha, Very confusing indeed
I understand you dont like it, its the devils work and all that, Question remain.
I mean that depends, What information would you like to get? It whats the blizzard mail told me when I got unbanned, not me beeing vague here
Following a new investigation of your account, I can now confirm that the suspension was a false positive
But then again, Thats not what we are here to discuss!
No. Sometimes (i personally know 1 player) it can trigger even after 2 hours of farm, especially on fresh acc. Sometimes you can farm for 10+ hours every day and not trigger. How much you farm it’s only 1 of factors, also there can be other factors that increase risk of ban for example if you are in country with regional prices (botters usually use turkey or ukraine acc with cheap sub so if you are living in 1 of those countries or any other country with lower pricing then probably you have more ban risk). Also there can be a lot of other factors, we dont know how exactly this system works but dungeon farmers (even legit, without bots, and not important do you boost other ppl or not) getting bans pretty often now. But some people farming everyday for hours and not getting ban - so it’s a bit random.
no. It’s just stupid blizzard anti-bot system. Streamer Payo for example got ban for this reason some days ago (you can see on his twitch) - but he got unbanned pretty fast because he is popular streamer. So that’s FACT that blizz “anti-bot” system can trigger sometimes for regular people. If you are not streamer then you have no real chance to be unbanned - blizz will just send you copy paste answers every time. And people like you still won’t believe it - but you can see real example is Payo ban. Only reason why he was unbanned so fast is that he is streamer. If you were him, you wouldn’t be unbanned blizz will just send you copy paste answers every time.
Thats a fair point, I never charged for gear, sometimes they come in and loot, sometimes they ask if they can have an item that drops, and sometimes, if I’v gotten alot of greens that are not worth anything, Instead of going and selling them I usualy just trade it to them, making them get some gold back. But I have never charged for a piece of equipment. But I guess, looking at logs p.o.v it will probably look wierd.
You are only allowed to advertise in trade no other chats, everything other than that is play with fire as it can be reported and you can be banned for it (dont know of any case where advertising outside of trade is for sure the one thing that triggered it though)
Blizzard cannot tell if you are selling the loot or just the runs. All they see is you getting gold and the people you run getting gear, even if it is greens.
Some guy I talked to (he just got muted not banned yet) told me that he got the information to ONLY advertise in LFG for boosting… no where else.
It’s so confusing.
Im basing my idea around how its set up for retail, where its only allowed in the trade services channel no where else, and seening as we just have trade and no trade services channel it would make sense that the trade channel is counted the same way as trade services are in retail (aka a channel dedicated for trading gold for something else), seeing as LFG is there to look for groups it wouldnt make sense that its a advertising channel for a service.
Long story short is you can boost, yourself and charge people but if you get reported and you have received gold bought from a gold seller you will be banned sadly. So its all luck
EDIT: That is the official narrative anyway on the situation im sure aggrend covered it on the comeback kids YT interview
