Dungeon deserter

This is getting out of hand in retail. I have played this game since 2005 and haven’t seen this amount of toxic behavior in LFD before!

People pull as dps and then blame the tank or healer for the deaths and kick them. The tank/healer get 30 min debuff for nothing and can’t enjoy they content as they usually would!

Shorten the debuff or don’t apply it to “kick”! This isn’t fun for anyone!

I must be the luckiest gnome alive. I can honestly say ive been kicked from a dungeon once years ago, for being a tool.

Sure i have meet toxic people but never met a fully toxic group, normally the toxic person is the one who gets ganged up on in LFD.

M+ is a whole other story…

I must be lucky in m+ then. I rarely meet toxic ppl in m+!

It’s not uncommon to be kicked by a group all from the same realm at the end boss for no reason involving my conduct or damage dealt. Best just to leave such groups and leave after 1st boss if you can. I know it’s toxic to but it does avoid that debuff.

Not for the first time, I feel like the kick button needs an obvious cooldown. Of about 2 hours.

So if you want to say “yes” you are told that you won’t be able to kick anyone for the next 120 minutes. Probably the average evening timeslot for most players.

Which might make people wonder whether it is really important to kick this person who is underperforming in a levelling dungeon, vs the guy who AFKs for 20 minutes in the next and who you then can’t vote out because you were a toxic jerk earlier.

I’d also suggest that voting yes to the kick requires you to re-type the reason that has been given by the initiator. Which would make the no button so much faster to get the dialog window out of your way. Right now, it’s a bit too easy to just feel like “get rid of this thing, yes yes, fine whatever”.

I’ve never had this experience, nor been a part of a group that did the kicking. I’m sure it does happen, but it’s not the norm.

Every time I’ve been kicked (about 4 times since 2007), it’s been an angry tank who overpulled, blamed someone else, and then me and my big mouth told him he was the problem and should learn to calm down.

But most of the time when someone votes for a kick, I openly say in /p that I won’t vote yes because the initiator is the problem. A small discussion follows, then we kick the guy who started the vote instead. Most of the time. It’s nice when it works out :joy_cat:

Yeah I did not have any chance! I was in the wotlk timeline and played “Ajzol-Nerub” and at first boss is there three packs that you need to be careful with. The dps players pull two out of three packs and we die!
Healer write: WTF dude! And kicked! Don’t even and a chance to say that it wasn’t me.
And when I write to the healer does he say that he didn’t kick me!

This is super toxic and unfair!

Yes good idea! It would make people think one second before kicking!

I always vote no unless the accused player is blatantly misbehaving and I am aware of fake vote invokes . There is a limit I have seen it where people who try to kick cant.

Why can’t we all just get along…

Same! Especially when new players try to learn the game and ask why we did kill all bosses in Freehold or if they don’t know every skip/cc!

We often ask blizzard to behave better but the community should also look into the mirror more often!

It makes my blood boii seeing new or learning players being bullied. it’s just a game . Being nice makes one feel nice so everyone’s happy.

This is why I tend to /p “You want more tanks at endgame? Let this tank learn and stop with the kick votes.”

It’s surprising how many times the player who started the vote leaves and eats the deserter debuff themselves.

In every case, it has taken less than 30 mins to finish the dungeon

I always vote no. Only voted yes once, when the tank refused to skip as much as possible of Motherload. Otherwise if someone is underperforming, which I would not know as I do not have a DPS addon, or makes mistakes, then so what?

It is a game people play for fun, not your one in a lifetime performance at the Olympics.

Yeah! The fun part is that I play tank in rather high keys and raids. And I know every turn of the dungeons from wotlk. But I can’t correct peoples mistakes when my tank is lvl 19 without most defensive skills yet.

The strange observation is that it doesn’t happens often as alliance, but horde seem to like the kick button! :stuck_out_tongue:

Last time I seen anything to toxic in LFD was in Cata, had me tanking over geared was just after the mounts from ZG… One hunter was fine lower dps but whatever the others decided to kick him for no reason. I asked why ect, well that was one of the longest dungeons for them lol Just stand around and shadowmeld when they tried to get me killed :stuck_out_tongue:

But havn’t seen anyone speak in a dungeon never mind just randomly kick ppl who aren’t afk/dc, in a long time? Horde problem?

They need to revert the Cata changes to tanks if they want more tanks… Its when I gave up tanking lol… need to hold agro/lead dungeon/mark and now self heal lol… People didn’t play tanks as it was boring so needed changes, they don’t want to have the responsibility of leading.

Hehe yeah! That some luck to not get kick since cata. But the true part is that I haven’t been kicked ever on alliance but already two times on horde in one evening!

First: dc, restart game = kicked (and I have m2 ssd and fast internet)

Second: dps pull we die, me as tank kicked :stuck_out_tongue:

I don’t want to accuse hordes of being sweaty tryhards, but… :joy_cat:

Maybe this is why I haven’t seen a lot of kicking happen. Nearly everything I raised was alliance; and the hordes I’ve done since 9.2.5 have been healers or tanks that nobody really wanted to wait to replace :smile_cat:

Looking back, my favourite “stop kicking newbies” moment was while tanking LFR. The other tank clearly didn’t know how Sludgefist worked. Whispered him after the first 2 pulls had failed, but the raid kicked him before I had finished explaining. I called them idiots and left too. One minute later, I’m in another LFR, with the same co-tank and we got through it just fine now that someone had told him about the pillars.

I imagine that first group waited a lot longer for 2 fresh tanks than it would have taken to just explain the fight :joy_cat:

TLDR, being a jerk isn’t against the rules but it can be very self defeating. Less so in levelling dungeons where replacements tend to arrive within minutes - but that’s why there should be a significant cooldown on being able to kick anyone.

That it why i changed back to alliance. i do still play them horde sometimes as put a lot of time into them and feel bad just leaving them sitting. Near a year playtime on one of them.

That 1 time i tried to level an alliance char i got kicked out of leveling dungeons for not dispelling when i did not even have a dispell button yet, and multiple times for not having heirlooms. Got also called some racist name for not having them, for some reason. Horde was bad as a new player but alliance is the worst ever.

I found its mainly around 10-13 mark - and normally always the middle dps, dont know why just normally always is…

I once got called a parasite as an alliance level 60 tank for asking - not even cutting words out here “anyone planning to help or you all just going to stand there?” for the maze in mists. Thought it was a strange choice of word tbh…

Got kicked from dungeon last week for defending new player. Got msged “you get what u deserve” after the kick

In some pea brains opinion. remember that .
