Ah, was wondering why I got Deserter after leaving after several bosses. We had quite an annoying tank who just kept overpulling and dying, and I didn’t want to be negative and point it out, so just left. Good to know that this changes in DF.
Anyway, are unfair kicks that common? I don’t do many dungeons, but it seems illogical to kick someone without a relevant reason, since you waste time waiting for a new player…
I don’t think they are that common, but I think when people are kicked they sometimes vent on social media. As opposed to the huge number of runs without incident.
I’d still argue they’re more common than you think, maybe it’s just the way I’m playing but it just seems that you guys haven’t seen that many unfair kicks personally. I don’t consistently spam dungeons by any means and I literally did one dragonflight dungeon on my twink and got kicked just for doing that. Plus I’ve been kicked from a war within dungeon for not knowing the mechanic and they didn’t properly explain the mechanic so just kicked me? You know what I’ve looked at my war within dungeon stats and I’ve done 15 to 20 war within dungeons and fair enough 1 kick in that is low but that’s still 1 in 20.
I get this isn’t official stats but I don’t know what you expect what else for me to say that this is an issue? I mean fair enough there has been replies from small subsets of people and there probably isnt that many players that care enough to comment on the forum.
Pulling is the tank’s job. You pull something when you’re not the tank you’re in the wrong (if you are the tank then the rest of the group is in the wrong, but VTK is a majority rules situation).
If you (that is specifically the char you’re posting from) enters a dungeon in the wrong gear, you’ll potentially be very very hard to keep alive. Plate/mail/leather users shouldn’t wear cloth - it’s not an upgrade, don’t do it. Warriors also shouldn’t use int gear.
And how long is a “brief” disconnect anyway? I’ve seen groups completing a dungeon without ever kicking a disconnected player, and I’ve seen groups kick them almost faster than their icon shows they’re disconnected, and anything between.
You, I, and everybody can think these reasons are stupid/unfair/whatever, but fact of the matter is a player can get kicked from a group for any reason (and usually no reason is given at all) and that is not against the rules as they currently are.
Your 30 minute deserter buff is long gone before even the AI cares to take a look at your complaint. Not going to happen - at least not in a way that’ll mean anything in the moment
