Dungeon difficulty -

Just casting my vote and polling yours…

In this early stage, we mostly just run DM / WC as our entry dungeons. They are not supposed to be difficult, and I didn’t do them for years. WC probably over a decade.

That said, I find them too easy now.
You can run WC without a tank and healer.
In DM, healers tend to be challenged on a couple bosses (except maybe Penance).
I find them to be too trivial, lacking challenge.

I’m worried that power creep from runes will keep trivializing content to the point where it’s just about tourist mode.

How about you?

They said they are aware of this and it is an option they consider to adjust the content if it becomes too easy

Personally I don’t mind much. I never raided in Vanilla and only casually did so in classic. Never really played retail either
Anything beyond BWL is “new content” for me. All this stuff people say is braindead easy after playing it for so long, I find challenging.
No wonder I like SoD.

Today i had WC run, where Tank didnt stop for a second and was chain pulling literally everything, we were in combat for whole duration (some mob buged in the begining) and i managed to heal it through just using penance as a lvl 18 priest. Too be fair we had shaman using shamanistic rage 24/7 but still it was too easy.

People want to do easy content, harder content should be in optional format, such as hardmodes from Ulduar or heroic versions.

Like lurky says, try doing harder dungeons.

assuming ure 25 like yr pic says, wc is soloable all teh way to the last boss (before murclock) bunch of classes solo it. i would recommend RFK instead

That’s the thing, hard content is a very niche thing. People like to fancy themselves as epic hardcore gamers and loathe the dad gamer. But time and time again raid participation takes a nosedive as soon as the content is the least bit challenging. The vast majority of players do not want difficult content, they want to blast through easy content, parse and get loot. That’s it, and there’s absolutely nothing wrong with that by the way, it’s a game, it’s supposed to be fun, and that’s what most people find fun. And that’s only talking about raids, people sure as heck do not want difficult leveling dungeons.

Absolutely agreed, I like to think about a middle ground somewhere.

One extreme requires you to stay on your toes, risking deaths or even wipes unless perfectly executed or seriously outgeared.

The other, like exemplified with Wailing Caverns, offers nothing to think about or react to.

Like tea or coffee, you neither enjoy it while boiling hot, nor when cold. Perfect warmth is subjective, but neither extreme. In my opinion. :slight_smile:

I miss those days when dungeons required crowd control and dps had to care their threat for not to get 1-2 shot by elite mobs. Beats the current aoe-fest gameplay any day of the week.

I cannot believe these entry dungeons are EASY in MY WORLD OF WARCRAFT? How have the devs not put in heroic++++ and m+ into RAGEFIRE CHASM?

You want it to be hard enough so you have to think atleast the first few times you do a boss, however you don’t want it to be so hard it alienates not just your “bad” friends, but also the general community.

I love the fact that BFDs has been puggable, even though far more efficient and fun with friends on discord having it puggable for alts and the general playerbase that maybe lack a friendship base in this mmo.

As soon as content becomes too hard you have to be too selective in your raid makeup, not only does this make certain classes become redundant as you are better off “stacking X class” we had some danger of this with priests & hunters as they were overtuned. I am hoping they keep a check on this. Also let our “noob” friends (or maybe we are the noobs) play with the rest of the gang. As the post above mentions… its for fun afterall.

Maybe add heroic difficulty with better loot to existing dungeons? Those who want easy dungeons and easy loot do the dungeons as they are now with the same loot. While those who want a bigger challenge could do heroic. Maybe same items, but with a higher item lvl and stats.

Just try the dungeons solo or duo.

with 8-10 weeks between phases, i doubt they want to rework all the dungeouns with improved loot and fights.
all that will probably be tabled after p4 when they have to figure out where SoD will go.

Let the content be easy.
This is classic, most of the players have sloth level of reaction speed.
Although… Something like M+ with maybe some achievement tied to it would be fun, but no better gear drop.
