It’s pretty much a given now that someone will leave the group in the early stages of a dungeon. Why on earth would you make it so that legendaries can be looted from anything but the last boss?
Yeah, people leave groups all the time. People go AFK. People get kicked. People just change their mind. Replacing people is a thing. But this is a new behaviour pattern that is solely linked to players farming certain bosses for their best legendaries.
I have been in groups that have had to queue 3 times to replace people who dip after the boss they “need”. Or sometimes a player leaves, we queue for a few minutes and then everyone else gives up meaning that ~30 minutes (queue for group, play, queue in group) is wasted. And what about those who spend 15+ minutes queuing for a group, only to be dumped into a dungeon where the group is on the last boss? You do realise that some people would rather do 5/5 bosses rather than 1/5, right?
I really hope this is going to be fixed at some point, because this behaviour just saps all of the fun out of the new dungeons.
hindsight is 20/20, they probably thought it added to the flavor to have specific bosses drop specific powers instead of just having a M+ style loot dump at the end of the dungeon but hey
It’s not hindsight at this point though; in previous expansions, dungeon WQs and other quests such as profession ones did not require the final boss. They had to change it so that it did.
Now they’ve repeated that mistake. Blizzard’s constant ineptitude with things like this is criminal.
Yes actually, since you are so keen on only reading one sentence out of a whole post. You still haven’t responded to how long it takes to find a tank once they leave.
Thanks for the data. Good luck on your adventures in the Shadowlands!
No. Blizzard have already shown they are well aware of player behavior because dungeon WQs required one to kill the final boss to finish the quest. That was put in precisely as protection against people in just for one thing then leave as soon as they get what they want, or not.
