Why is it that someone can just decide to throw up a votekick and put someone on a 30 minute dungeon cooldown for no reason? How is that fair, like at all. In what world is that “deserting” a dungeon, like please enlighten me. That’s such a stupid mechanic, and makes me question what i’m even paying for. Please remove this, this is absolutely ridiculous
Honestly, sometimes i wonder if you all don’t follow the news or knows exactly WHY this became a thing.
The thing was in early war within, in pre-season.
People would join ara-kara, only kill first boss and then leave, Until recently you did not get the Debuff after you killed a boss.
So to combat all these “Loot leavers” people called them, they made it so you always get the 30 min debuff no matter if a boss was killed or not.
The debuff has to be there for if you get kicked as well… otherwise people will just go “yeah ok, so i get 30 min debuff if i leave so just kick me, i’ll just afk until you do”
Now this is obviously a pointless thing now, since noone care about heroic 5 mans any more, so i dono why this debuff is not scrapped yet.
The debuff was put in place to deter players taking the dungeon hostage. There was a recent minor tweak to also include mid-dungeon leavers but otherwise it has been pretty much set in stone since then.
make it 5-10 min max if kicked. id say.
If it’s too short, they may weigh that up against getting kicked on purpose to requeue faster. 30 minutes is about the average time of PVE content and some bit more sometimes depending on how overgeared the players are.
It’s ridiculous. It makes no difference in actual play.
“They keep the dungeon hostage, and if it’s a tank…”, no they don’t. Just kick them. You won’t wait 30 mins for the next one, even if it’s a tank. Plus, you can teleport out and do other stuff while you wait.
Meanwhile right now I pulled 4 packs in a HC dungeon cos I can survive it and the result of a good pull where nobody died was I got kicked by healer and his buddies and waited 30 mins to do the weekly.
Granted, I did other stuff during the 30 mins, but I was literally being punished for playing well. How is that acceptable?
Exactly what the tanks and healers wanted, people would just kick them because they held the dungeon hostage.
Correct once again: Tanks and healers got the fastest queues. Without a penalty, they would just do the same thing again.
Why would they carry on with the dungeon which they don’t need anything from? They would just tell you to kick them without a penalty. Which was what occured very often almost every dungeon in the past.
In the past when there was no such penalty the same tank/healer could re-appear multiple times in the same dungeon and instead ask the party to entirely leave. Because there is or was a CD/amount of kicks back then, the dungeon group essentially got crippled.

If you have a proper suggestion you may also give it directly to the dev team with the ingame feedback box.
I meant for the next tank or healer to show up for the group to carry on with the dungeon.
Also, the same tank appearing sounds more like the queue system was broken. Hard to believe only one tank in the entire US server base wanted to join that dungeon.
