Was just wondering, is it me, or some BiS items like trinkets are dropped in raids? I don’t dislike doing these old dungeons, but their loot is outdated. I am currently aiming for Tazavesh trinkets e.g., since the rest (Mana battery maybe) seems…utter crap

I personally don’t want to go raiding to get my BiS stuff, like Sire’s trinket. When I do them, and get them, all good, but this season I mostly do M+ and I feel the loot just isn’t matching up, or is interesting enough.
That seems to be class/spec dependant.
For Feraldruids and Beastmasters I know that The First Sigil (SotFo, Pantheon) is BiS way beyond its itemlevel (a 252 first sigil basicly beats almost every other trinket up to at least 278). And I suppose that doesn’t change after scaled for S4. So I expect the “normal fated” First Sigil to at least be equal to ilvl 304 m+ trinkets on those specs.
Possibly yeah, I started with my gear after S2, so need to re-gear, and I checked the loot…kinda sucks mostly esp. trinkets are usually important, I mean, got a non-INT vers+vers on use trinket last night. So aiming for the trinks from the 2 SL dungeons instead.
The good thing is:
You can get the First Sigil in “normal fated” edition quite easily if you just kill 30 bosses (over 3 weeks) through LFR.
That is a thing for S4 though.
Previously most people were after Quantum device, which was the BiS for many specs and thus those who wanted it had to do M+ even if they dislike it.
That is just how these things go. Sometimes raid trinkets are the best, while M+ trinkets are best at other times.
True, mostly I don’t mind, but the trinks, for me at least, from the old dungeons, are mostly crap.
I guess I’ll use the Tazavesh ones, and maybe get the Sire one.
IQD I think is not that big of a problem.
Even though it was BiS, it actually didn’t divert so much from other trinkets with the same ilevel.
First Sigil is special in that aspect as it still outperforms trinkets 20 ilevels above its own level by quite a margin.
dude there are no tank trinkets for us in m+. only codex. the rest stuff is all from the raid which sucks. 3 coins for a 4spec class gg blizzard.

That is because of how it works.
The initial boost of stats is very strong, and the trinket doesn’t gain enough stats for you to go for the higher ones, for that reason you get the most out of getting any itemlevel one.
Even then First Sigil isn’t that big of an outlier. For a spec like Feral a base 278 ilvl of the PvP trinket is barely a downgrade from a 278 Sigil. Even for Balance the base version of the Shadowed Orb of Torment beats the highest ilvl boost from Sigil.
Is there a specific spec you are talking about? Because I am seeing no major outlier with the Sigil when it comes to power and ilvl. There are plenty of similar trinkets where the base 278 version beats most other trinkets for specs.
Honestly I don’t think Blizz have the predictive power to tell which trinkets will be BiS for anyone and which will be garbo.
The good ones show up where they show up. Sometimes it’s raids, sometimes it isn’t. And at this point I can’t advise farming anything from the raid because it’s likely you’ll only get 5-6 chances before the end of the season. There’s higher odds of NOT getting your item than there are of getting it.
Most destro trinkets for S4 in Dungeons are useless.

The saddest part for me is the legion even starting next week…and sp bis trinket drops in vaults…
Considering the fact that it took me close to 50 runs to get staff from gambit…i have to admit that luck isnt on my side and im not looking forward to fsrming longas vault of warden…
Don’t forget the puzzle coins and the upgrade-tokens for raid-gear.
I am just going to use my old 278 changeling + soleah from tazavesh. I am not going to raid, so thats it.
What to do with the tank trinkets? With new dungeons they appear to be eve more diverse than earlier.

Same problem, still don’t have it. It dropped a lot, like a lot, last run I did, since in pugs nobody says a word, they already gave it to someone. Nobody speaks, everyone participates in a run. It wasn’t even a friend, then I’d understand.

Depends on class. But vers vers trinket from iron docks seems to be very strong for a lot of tanks due to boost to aoe DMG abilities IT gives on 2 min cd. IT synergise really well with necro blood dks Aoe boost. For my Guardian druid ireally like aginity / mastery trinket IT synergise well with 3 min cds and boosts your DMG significantly . The other one woudl be ofc streets trinket bis for all tanks due to DMG reflect .
