Dungeons are really really bad in War Within or this is a bug

I just did my first dungeon. The Rookery. What a joke! At level 71 mobs died in like 3-4 seconds. At some point we gathered the whole room and everything died in 6-7 seconds. The bosses? Like in 10-15 seconds. This must be a bug, there is no other explanation. The same goes for open world too. Way too low tuned. Everything dies with 2-3 hits. I am just shocked of how bad the experience it is. Zero sense of danger. Brain dead button smash and keep forward. Also my gear isn’t crazy, just normal stuff. Not a raider.

Its first evening and everyone is leveling their Mains.

wAit 2 days when real audience of normal dungeons willcswarm in - people doing like 10k dps and then those will słów down.

That’s said rookery is amazing for leveling :stuck_out_tongue: they will nerf it somehow by morning :stuck_out_tongue:

Welcome to World of Item Levels WentFrom 350 To 524.

An equivalent would be a new expansion designed for level 60’s from vanilla being entered by players who freshly killed The Lich King.

We are destroying everything, and it has to be this way because of how Dragonflight was designed.

I know most people have top gear, but again. Killing a boss in 10 seconds, and everything else in 3-4 is CRAZY. The same for open world. I don’t have great gear and still killing anything so easily. DF was not the same experience. They must have made a mistake in tuning.

I personally prefer this, to just entering a new area and replacing all my Raid items instantly. This way those who participated in the last Expansion, actually gets to feel like powerful heroes for a while. And people who didn’t play lost expansion or are leveling new characters, gets the proper adventurer experience

It has to be this way. If it wasn’t then new players couldn’t even begin - they’d be stomped immediately. Alternatively, they could get huuuuuge item level upgrades and still have an easy intro, but that’s really not ideal for them, either. Will cause some massive difficulty spikes.

What they did is the only right thing to do, but it’s boring for me. A gave that feedback during beta, but Blizzard have designed themselves into a corner. Given what they did in Dragonflight, they have no other choice.

I dont know what game you guys are playing. I am struggling to level, at the moment game feels harder than elden ring.

Well idk I mean my ice lance deals 200k damage to mobs with 80k HP.

It may just be the itemlevel differences. I remember mowing through everything on my Brewmaster at the start of DF, and everything was dying in a few globals beside rares up until like level 65-68.

Atleast in outdoor content. I would go out on a limb and say it was the same for DF dungeons, but that I cannot comment on as I did not do any dungeons until I got to level 70.

Even in non-raiding gear, you’re outgearing the content, levelling has to be balanced to be doable by somebody in janky levelling greens, with a few items from several levels ago, and scaling while levelling always feels bad, your power will diminish a lot as the levels proceed.

This time tomorrow, we’ll have “Why is levelling up making me weaker?”-threads again, like every expansion before TWW.

Sounds like a braindead experience. No tactics, no teamwork, just running simulator.
We had the same heroic dungeons in DF, nothing new.

I can’t believe you jumped in here to post this while you were levelling with likely at least 480 ilevel from the pre-patch event, and probably level 70-71.

These are normal intro dungeons to bring you into the game. You’re not doing heroic or mythic here, and you’re likely stupidly over-geared for this level of content.

It’s been this way since like legion if not before

True, but they made it even worse. They added ~30 item levels on top of the normal scaling, which was already high.

I mean, I knew this was gonna happen. It was obvious. But it is, nevertheless, the explanation. Blizzard painted themselves into a corner by giving us so many item levels.

Legion have us I think 300 or so. Df went up by 200

Huh, really?

Honestly I didn’t think it was that much, but of course Legion was infamous for us ending up with millions and millions of health; something we’re about to repeat except worse.

By the end of this expansion even DPS/healer will have tens of millions of health.

Legion “solved” this though by doing a colossal squish for BfA that smushed all these item levels more together, so it wasn’t felt as acutely.

Its just the scaling. They missed the mark.
At lvl 80 it slows down alot. It feels like a proper normal dungeon.
IF !! you dont get grouped with someone under lvl 80. If you do…well… then it feels like you have just leveled 20 levels down from 70 instead of up to 80. Just did a dungeon on my 80 priest …got grouped with lower lvls in the paladin dungeon idk the name…well let me tell you that i was competing with the healer in damage meanwhilr the DH tank 75 did 10mil dps pull to pull (well technicaly he jist did one pull till the game stopped him with doors, jump down or smtn like that…

It is the proper RPG experience boys. Leveling down.

If you go the dungs that opens at 80…then its fine.
Its just the unbeliveably idiotic scaling mechanic.

dont worry - bu the time you will be like 76 not only scaling will catch up to you but you will also start sporadicaly dying in levleing dungeons when pulls are to big

and then you will have very very rude awakening when m0 dungeons will open and you slam your face into a wall

Same here. Joined a dungeon and couldn’t keep up with the tank. He oneshot all packs and moved on while the rest of the group was doing zero damage, trying to keep up.

When i lvld up my paladin i didn’t change sinle item till 80
and i like it because at least there my gear from last expansion had some purpose…
would be weard having a epic gear being replaced by green because i struggle to kill some random quest npc in the world
when it comes to dungeons it’s normal
normal in my opinion was always easy
