Now, we’ve all probably gotten through these dungeons, either perhaps on Beta already through M+ and M0, or now on live, through HCs and NMs.
I can’t say, that I like a single one of these 8 new dungeons at all. I gave this feedback through the Beta, and I’ll give it again. They’re all awful. Literally all 8 of them. The 4 “old” dungeons brought back for the first M+ season, are legit the good ones. Even though, some of them were painful as hell back then.
I’ve been a main PvE player since end of TBC… But I feel like I might as well just go full PvP this expansion because of it… I can’t be the only one, feeling insanely disappointed, can I?
There’s too many problems with them all in different ways.
Siege of Boralus will still be the most cancerous plague there is. But they did finetune it for sure. But it’s still not good. But in other terms, it’s better than the new ones…
You are just complaining because you dont know the mechanics. Once you get the hang of the dungeons its not a big deal.
Its just kick this. Avoid that. Pop CDs here… Or simply, a good route. Many tanks are just “yoloing” the dungeons because they are as lost as the DDs. Because its new. Not surprising…
Either way. Its still a fact that every expansion there are dungeon haters. Saying anything but the new dungeons are bad.
If you were a bit more specific, you would realize you are wrong.
Buddy, I know the mechanics. I’ve been pushing in the top 0,1% of M+ since Legion. The mechanics is not an issue or so for me.
For instance, City of Threads, just a really boring part finding the spies etc…
Dawnbreaker? I wasn’t a fan of Nokhuud Offensive because of the flying… And this one is just messy really.
Rookery? Gosh, the mobs there are just really annoying, especially as a caster… There’s just an overwhelming amount of stuff on the floor, which ends up making you not doing much at all.
The honey dungeon, can’t remember the name now… But, the mechanics in there are just boring, it’s literally nothing special.
The one with the carts (I’m bad with names okey?), just really basic? There’s not much at all there even in mythic.
The one with the rats and light candles? Please… Imagine this in pugs for instance… It’s just gonna end up with so many people rage quitting etc through pugs.
I’ve felt “fine” with generally all dungeons so far, through previous expansions, but I’m just strongly disliking these new 8. For either not having anything at all, beside just running through, or being completely bombarded with stuff, or just stupid mechanics in general. Dawnbreaker? The golden orbs should be put out instantly all of them. Not slowly behind the boss flying… Also, god damn there’s still too many bugs falling through the boats there… It will also end up with way too many people getting instantly 1 tapped in M+, if the tank is just a tiny second too slow.
You cant be serious. You just have to go from 1 ship to another. And dodge a big purple ball every 1 minute.
Do you prefer they would have put the Occulus ?
Bad positioning. Nothing new. Do you prefer Uldaman or RLP to the Rookery ?
I thought you pushed 0.1% since Legion. What pugs ? And even if you did PuG, the ones that get remotely close to 0.1% by definition do mechanics. Otherwise you dont time stuff.
You dont seem to though. With what you say. And atleast not with the toon you post. The best you did was a +24 in S3 … bit far fetched to claim “aiming at 0.1%” … And that is when Rets were good performers !
“not enough stuff” … you know what that means ? It means you ignore 90% of the stuff happening because it cant kill you.
Lets talk again when you do these dungeons on a +18/+20 (if you aim for the 0.1% for real) and anything short of a tickle 1-shots you…
Court of Stars and City of Threads, are not the same. Not even close. Court of Stars was one of my favorites, among Arcway back in Legion.
And I don’t know what people had against Occulus really, it’s not the same as flying around dragon riding, as it was with flying around controlling a dragon and shooting stuff.
Rookery? Have you pulled 3-4 pacs in there? One black hole sucking you in with 50 puddles surrounding it? Uldaman and RLP was completely fine in that sense. There’s 10x worse playing a caster in there.
0,1% through Legion and BFA yes. But I’m also a person who plays several alts per season, which means ending up in pugs a bit too. I don’t get your logic here at all, as it completely has none.
You’re checking one of my alts which honestly, I have no idea why it is “posted” as my character on here. It’s a random character I boosted in S3 after buying TWW. You do very much ignore 90% of stuff happening, as it wont kill you. You assist with interrupting mobs far away, to get them grouped, then pump DPS. Throw a CC to stop some casts, and just pump. As generally, 90% of stuff in dungeons, are just dodgeing.
I’ve already done these dungeons in +13 to +15 on Beta. So if you wanna be an idiot, go ahead, I’ll still shut you down.
My logic is that people throw out how “pro” they are with out actually being transparent. I call it BS until I see an armory toon.
And it better not be FOTM reroll… thats the coward way to do things…
I am transparent. Look at beyond S4 in Raider IO please. But if you are so lazy as to look at S4 only… you would have figured out that I did those +15s the 1st and 2nd week of S4. With S3 gear.
And then I went on vacation.
Also, if you were a proper M+ pusher you would see the chalanges put infront of you. And instead of coming here to complain like a noob saying :
“its categorically the worst thing I have seen since Legion” with out considering things like Siege or DOTI (to name a few)…

Do like the real pros. Get the challenges set before you and look for new tech to overcome them.
Like the Rookery. 3-4 packs ? Well DONT pull 3-4 packs. I have no idea what the meta route will be jesus christ. What I do know 100% is that it will NOT be this “YOLO pull half the dungeon and clear everything in 8 minutes” we are seeing now… Think a bit common…
But either way… there have ALWAYS been packs that are annoying to casters. And packs that are annoying to melees. And Healers/Tanks too. Its not a surprise !
So dont give me this BS. These dungeons have annoying mechanics. Like ALL dungeons had before them (including combos of mechanics + affixes)…
Not a big deal. Act like the “pro” you say you are… wait for the M+ season. Do the dungeons… and then come here to complain about specific mechanics… Not categoric whines “everything sukzz LULz” …
So far I’ve found TWW gauntlets, etc, to be far less egregious than some previous ones (like the one in VotI or ToS) and seems to be weird straightforward fun, really. It’s Grim Batol our SoB I am dreading the most…
The only ones which felt moderately interesting were Darkflame and Dawnbreaker.
But I had an absolutely awful experience spamming dungeons to level up 2 alts already. It’s just like… they all feel rushed and I can barely feel a difference between the “Earthen” themed ones. They feel the same, especially if you do them back to back.
Having bosses say “Destroy you” or something like this is genuinely so boring.
Obviously, most people are going to spam M+ and feel the artificial difficulty added by affixes and mob hp + dmg. But that is not going to greatly help in making them less-boring. On the contrary - annoying “same old” mechanics that oneshot you because of key difficulty (while doing nothing on normal / hc ) just make it even more boring.
Dragonflight dungeons were good overall in terms of design, in my opinion, and Shadowlands ones were even better. The theme seems to not be implemented too well in the ones for this expansion. Generally feels like “ooooh VOID VOID /paint NPC in dark blue color, add incomprehensible dialog = mob / boss is fleshed out”, like no, it isn’t.
With the exception of the dawnbreaker dungeon I am genuinely enjoying running dungeons for the first time since MoP.
So you may not be the only one disappointed, but not everybody are either
How Dawnbreaker even got trough the idea-phase is for me a mystery. So many bugs and such a terrible gameplay.
Dragonflying here and trying to find tank? How this idea even got trough elimination? There must be some very pretty pretty gamedesigners that is hired for the looks, not the skills? Can’t even cast some spells in this dungeon. Try casting example Fury of Elune on the last boss on ground…
