The Darkshire Archives is a hub for all things dark and Duskwood-y, and is currently the largest of the Duskwood discords with a vibrant* roster of Guilds and individuals (*several shades of morally grey) each contributing to a stellar community of active RP!

We’ve also got channels for pretty much all you can want;
A cozy general chat, an archive of endless memes, an 18+ section for your NSFW needs, a dedicated music/video channel and a dedicated spoilers channel! I’m not going to lie and say that, uh, having a NSFW section on a public server for a PEGI13 game is a tad weird.
Also I bear a small peeve with the fact that people keep making discords for everything under the sun. Honestly considering how small the roleplayer counter is right now in Westfall/Redridge/Duskwood/God-forgive-me-Elwynn-Forest one might as well create a single big (by comparison) discord for SW RP or something…

Wtf. Every time I see mention of a Duskwood Discord, it’s attached to massive, insane drama. Is this the same discord where a bunch of Duskwood GMs ganged up and expelled guilds they didn’t like or something a short while back, or is it a fresh new one?

Mm, I don’t know the other one personally so can’t comment on which is ‘better’. I just know that the original one is strangely friendly… Suspiciously so.

I think this statement is unironically based and true.

Out of personal experience, the other Duskwood Discord seems to be toxic and extremely paranoid. The discord itself is completely and utterly private, if you’re not part of their crew, you’re not getting access to what should in theory be a place where all active roleplayers should be allowed in. This personally gets worse when they start taking on the mindset that they own the zone, so stuff like “meta gaming” and “mass ignoring” often takes place. The fact that a large percentage of the chat that takes place in this old Duskwood Discord is only about shading other players names, is not a good sign, and continues to push the toxicity forward.

I stated above, paranoia and toxicity.

This is my point precisely, you’re seemingly all going to be debating this heavily behind closed doors - so please who is “us” because you’re the only one on the forum.

Vaxir, I personally find this very odd, the fact that you normally like to stubbornly stand on the stance of “people can do what they like”, the second it comes to your doorstep, you’re very much saying the opposite. Alas, he’s making a community discord because the other one seems to be extremely plagued and unwelcoming.

To finally state this discord seems fine, it’s active and friendly, and doesn’t seem to take on the mindset of “we own Duskwood”. Alongside that it seems to be promoting the roleplay, so this I do endorse such, though I heavily suggest the NSFW channel is removed, and probably the discord itself do a clean up on how many empty channels it has.

…wouldn’t community be enough for this kind of thing…?
I mean… I feel like a player needs to belong to at least 10 various Discords to find some RP in WoW… (region ones, LFRP ones, Horde/Alliance ones, race-only ones… like, come on).

Tbh the NSFW channel can be a quarantine channel for the walking-talking controversy-loving crazies while the functioning RPers get to stay in all the others.

Or they could just be filtered and banned as they should be.
