Hiya!
I recently moved back from NA to the EU after 6 years of playing on US servers. I plan to go study and work in the NL for a while, so I wanna learn some Dutch language, and so I thought it would be a good idea to also surround myself with Dutch players to complement my language learning.
Are there any specific servers that are known in the community to have lots of Dutch players? I’m primarily interesting in mythic raiding guilds with 2 day schedule and consistent cutting edges.
I appreciate every response and have a wonderful evening <3
According to wowprogress the ‘best’ Dutch guild is currently on 5/8 mythic. Maybe you should adjust your requirements.

Oh yeah, I didn’t even think I should do that on wowprogress. Well, yeah, that’s kinda a bummer then. I don’t know if there are other methods to uncover good Dutch guilds
I guess most good Dutch players are just playing in English speaking guilds anyway.
When are you moving to the Netherlands?

You can filter for language on the wowprogress main page. I don’t think there are many guilds that did not adjust their page and did not specifically state their language.
So your best bet is adjusting your requirements I am afraid.

There isn’t a specific dutch server, so we are all over the place. And it isn’t any problem to get integrated with who ever EU as long as it is English speaking
I suppose you are hurting your guild potential very hard when you limit yourself to only dutch players too, for mythic raiding without cross-realm.

You find em everywhere, scattered over servers.
On pyrewood (Horde) in classic I bump into many Dutch/Belgian players.
In retail: Emerald Dream on Alliance used to have quite a bit of Dutch/Belgian players when I played on it, I assume they are all still there.
But hey just a search on the Armoury for ‘Dutch’ or ‘NL’ will give you plenty guilds.
Can’t help you out myself, my Dutch is pretty crap these days. Moved to Sweden 10 years ago and I hardly speak Dutch other than an Antwerp dialect when I talk to my family on the phone once in while.

Thanks for such great replies guys! I guess I will just stick with English speaking guilds and make some effort to make Dutch friends whenever I meet them

Please keep your racism off the forums, thanks.
I’m playing on Chamber of Aspects and I can’t say how many Dutch people there are, as I hardly ever see any. So if you’re looking for a Dutch guild in particular, that’s probably a bad choice
My advice would be to check Tarren Mill, Draenor and Kazzak for Dutch players. I know a bunch of them play on there.

Oh shiet. Its going down for real.
As other people here have stated: we’re all over the place
There are some Dutch speaking guilds out there but they are usually pretty casual/social gameplay style.
My guild has a couple of dutchies and my guess it a lot of guilds have a couple of us in there. Your best bet would be to indeed befriend a couple of dutchies who also kinda suit your play style I guess
Good luck!

I don’t think I’ve ever been in a guild on Draenor and not had Belgian or Dutch people in the guild. Same with various nationalities. Any that don’t have a specific language server of their own tend to go for English servers
I often find my fellow Dutchies to be quite irritating in-game and actively avoid them
But yeah, we’re everywhere.
Retail: Hellscream/Aggramar has loads of Dutchies/Belgians, Mograine (Classic) has loads of em aswell, most of em have cringy guild names though. On classic at least, one is called (translated) Tax Service and another one is called Dutch Glory.
I agree with Nagrash. It’s mainly because all the guilds that I’ve been in with them as GM/Officer has crashed and burned because of drama they were heavily involved in. Also don’t really like speaking my own language online, you’ll find alot of Belgian/Dutchies that agree with that so unsure how much it’s going to help finding yourself a Dutch guild. I suggest following the NL/Belgian Reddits to keep up to date on current day affairs, lots of em talk in a mix of English/Dutch and translate newspapers to English so you might be able to learn stuff from em and learn a thing or 2 about the country you’ll be studying in.
(Side note because it’s referenced here: “zwarte piet” is an iconic part of a Dutch/Belgian santa claus-like fairytale/event called “Sinterklaas” (we still have Christmas like everyone else), currently people are trying to call it racist, which it by no stretch of the imagination is, do not give in to the BS once you move to NL, just stay far away from the discussion.)

I avoid talking Dutch online wherever I can. It’s so much easier to keep everything English. Before you know it, you end up mixing English and Dutch words because of naming and concepts.
Let’s have the experts form this opinion instead. White people saying that something isn’t racist, isn’t exactly a worthy opinion.
Stop bringing up the subject here if you tell people to stay away, because you know where this is heading.
