Yep. And because in TBC BM is the spec to go, unless your raid needs expose weakness. Also Dwarf being one of the best Alliance race for Hunters has nothing compared to Blood Fury aka 3rd trinket in PvE and Stoneform is enferior to 15% stun resist chance in PvP.
The formula is simple: if you want only PvP go forsaken, if only PvE (and on casters mostly) go Troll or if you want both PvE and PvP go Orc .
No Alliance race has the racials compared to Horde ones. We have ok-ish, but you have to try harder without 3rd burst trinket, 2nd PvP trinket or personal mini BL racials.

I don’t think you’re restricted to guns? Dwarves are no worse with bows than Orcs are - they’re just better with guns than they are with bows. I’ve never played hunter but that’s my understanding

we get it, guys. you’re angry about your smoll pp racials. give it a rest.
On topic though; Orc
15% stun resist, Blood Fury and +5% pet dmg racial.
Troll is pretty good too, with Berserking and Bow specialization racial.
Orc does noticeably more dps in PvE scenarios, both the active and the passive (pet dmg) racials are better suited for a dps class.
In PvP dwars is really nice as well, since hunters (when not in Bwrath) are really vulnerable against rogues’ perma slow, and stoneform can really help with that.
So, if you want to do PvE go orc. If you want to do PvP, it’s a tossup, just go whichever faction you prefer.
Dwarf on PVE , orc on PVP server.

For absolute min-maxing, orcs are the best hunters in the game. Dwarves aren’t to be scoffed at, however. They have some good defensive racials, whereas the orcs are a bit more offensive.
For me, personally, I prefer playing races that somehow resonate with me and/or look cool over any racial trait. Orcs and dwarves are my favourites when it comes to hunters and warriors.
