I want to rp a dwarf who was adopted by humans after a battle, any ideas where this could’ve happened?
Hello here is an idea to start from scratch:
Make it simple to start with: You were born some time after the third war and found, adopted and raised by a couple of humans from Redrige Montains if you don’t want to go with Stormwind.
Since the wiki does say they are a small but still couple hundred dwarven populations, it may well be plausible.
Your character parents could or couldn’t have childrens it is up to you to see if you’ve got any siblings, what you learned as value, skills from them, etc, etc
This just an idea , a concept. I hope it help you and from that you find exactly which character you wanna play.
I rp a infertile human warrior and potion master who although a well seasoned and survivor of many small odds conflict.
Even with all her strengh, success and knowledge of nature Rainblood (nickname as an agent of the house Wrynn for safety and discretion) couldn’t give life.
I then adopted and saved a kaldorei girl from the flames of the fall Teldrassil, who’s parent were both dead giving their life trying to save their child from the horror. That’s how that relate to your character background.

Do not want to be rude but use your imagination, if i where to play a dwarf i would not be a orphan I would hail from twilight highlands from one of the wildhammer clan families that live their having to survive against all kinds of dangers and eventaully get send to dun morogh because the council of 3 summoned me to help out there. this is just litterly something i just made up but you can go so wild in these things you just need to think a bit, hope this helps and use my idea if you want to.
The world is your limit, in this case the world is a fantasy world layered upon other literal fantasy worlds in space! With not one but a myriad of sentient humanoids.
By ideas I suspect you mean a logical origin story but in the case of a child, (beings who generally tend to have little history about them anyway) do you need one? Perhaps they banged their head and BANG! they’re lost and all of a sudden found in the woods by a lowly farmer and his wife with no recollection of how their came about into their current circumstances, perhaps your village burned down in the crossfire and you were being escorted to the orphanage in Stormwind and through sheer charm and wit you garnered the love and affection of your human company?
My point is their history of those circumstances that lead up to the event of adoption properly isn’t as important as where you’re going to go with the character once you start roleplaying, besides a Dwarf child being adopted by human parents doesn’t sound too far fetched to me given that our own world has a thousand and one different stories of people being adopted from completely different continents, and Dwarves and Humans are within the same continent so you’ve already got one up on them.
