OOC:
Hey everyone, as we enjoy a wonderful spring time in 2025 I wanted to organize a gettogether that would bring people together in abit of springtime cheer!

The Boulder springs bash is an opportunity for Dwarf and Earthen rpers to come together and enjoy a lovely time by the pools of the Boulder springs. Sit in the shallows, enjoy a nice warm soak or play a game or two to test yourself against your fellow attendees!

During the Boulder springs bash you have plenty of opportunities to sit back and relax. But for those who enjoy a good challenge we have readied several games for your entertainment.

Friday 2nd of May (20:30 ST):

Wet whiskers:
Contestants are paired up or form pairs on their own. One contestant sits on the shoulders of the others. The aim of the game is to push over the other team.

The player on the bottom will act as the team’s defenses, their goal is to remain steadfast and defend against any efforts by the opposite team to push you over!

The player on the top will act at the team’s attacker, their goal is to use any means at their disposal to topple the enemy team!

At the start of a match both teams will start with 3 balance points, these equate to hit points.

When the contest begins both members of the teams will roll (D20). Both rolls will be combined to determine the group’s attack power. If their attack power is higher than the attack power of their opponent their team will get the upper hand and weaken the balance (HP) of the other team. Once the balance (HP) reaches zero the losing team will topple over and the team that remains standing will be declared the victor.

Securing a singular victory however is not enough. For as soon as one team secures victory their balance points (hp) will be reset to 3 and a new team can take on the challenge in an attempt to bring them down!

The aim of the gain is to build as long a win streak as possible. The team with the longest winstreak will be declared the champions of the wet whiskers!

Note: Securing individual victories is meaningless, the factor which determines whether you secure the title of champion is not how many times you can win but how many times you can win IN A ROW.

Friday 2nd of May (21:30):

Cinderbrew showdown:

The Cinderbrew showdown. will test the endurance of all contestants as they are given tankard after tankard of a special cinderbrew brewed especially for the occasion! A drinking contest in the truest sense of the word.

The contest itself will begin with every contestant rolling a d100 to determine how well they handle their first round of cinderbrew.

This initial dice roll determines the dice roll used in the following round. This repeats until the you have rolled a 1.

If you roll a 1 your character is no longer able to continue and must forfeit. This can either be by simply giving up, throwing up or passing out. Contestants are given free reign to decide for themselves how they wish to exit the contest.

The winner of the Cinderbrew showdown is the last person standing among all contestants.

Saturday 3rd of May (20:30)

Hot foot!:

Known among some Dark Iron kinsfolk as ‘’The Grim March’’ this test of willpower has proven the better of many. Now this age old challenge is brought to Khaz Algar so that Earthen and Dwarf alike may put themselves to the test.

In this game contestants are tasked with walking across a bed of hot coals imbued with powerful elemental magic to emulate the fires of the depths of the molten core. To accomplish this will require skill, technique and perhaps a good bit of luck. Lest you are sent running for the hills with a few new blisters to tell about!
[RULES:]
[RULE 1:] This game is played with a D100 rolling system.
[RULE: 2:] The game is played in two halves, you will be required to roll D100 for each half of the bed of enchanted coals and emoting with each result.
[RULE 3:] To succeed in crossing each half you must roll 50 or more. If you fail you must dismount the coals with an emote, noting that skipping and hopping will likely be mocked by the crowd.
[RULE 4:] The coals are enchanted by pyromancers, they burn hot even for Dark Iron and other flame-tolerant beings.
[RULE 5:] No enchantments or fire protection may be used, be that magical or through alchemy.
[RULE 6:] Strictly no running! That is considered cheating and will brand you a “Cold Foot”.

Saturday 3rd of May (21:30)

Cannonball carnage!:

The greatest fixture of the Boulder springs are the springs themselves. Hot pools of mineral water these springs provide ample relief for those in need of rest or healing. They also make for a mean swimming pool to cannonball into!

The cannonball challenge is a challenge that will put your technique, your skill and the size of your belly to the test!

At the start of the challenge a candle will be place atop a rocky ledge overlooking the pool right next to the contestant!

The contestant will then be tasked with jumping into the pool below and land cause enough of a splash to put out the candle placed above!

Contestants partaking in the challenge will roll with a d20 for three aspects of their jump.

-The run
-The jump
-The splash

As the contestant is given the signal to begin they will roll for their run! This determines how well they execute their run up to the ledge!

As they reach the edge of the ledge the contestant rolls for their jump. This roll determines how well they execute their leap from the top of the ledge!

Upon hitting the water the contestant rolls for their splash this determines how well they execute their landing in the water!

To succeed in putting out the candle placed above the contestant must score a total score of 40 points from a maximum of 60 points.

Signups for each event will be handled before each game commences.
If you have any questions regarding the Boulder Springs bash or want to know more. Feel free to post your questions here and I will endeavour to answer them to the best of my ability.
