It’s been a real privilege to be fighting alongside these fine folk o’ Morodnir! They’re all so very welcoming and grand, wholesome bunch o’ Dwarves to boot!

Plus, having just recently returned from the Aerie after pasting a few Troll don’t hurt neither!

Well the time is near upon us for the new expansion! and with it, the Morodnir have faced new and unexpected foes!

After rogue dwarf attaced the father of Frolbar Boldbeard, the Morod set out to confront the assassin hiding in a troll village, which came with a few surprises!

Battling our way into the village, we faced Trolls wielding strange elemental powers, violent and untamed! They lashed out with primordial flame and storms!

And the dwarf we sought was riding a strange proto-drake of all things!

Once the trolls had been put down, the blasted dragon and the rider flew off and did a bunk!

But that didn’t stop us pursuing him and his ancient elemental allies into Loch Modan!

With the city of Thelsemar defended and the raging forces of the storm pushed back, we stand ready to face what comes next! - but then news arrived of the storm rising up across the world of strange new drakonid allies…

Dragonflight is just around the corner! and the Morodnir are leaping in to the adventure feet first!

So far we’ve had a great pre expansion journey with the introduction of the primalists and their primal storms. This coming week we’re going to focus on a a final pre expansion chapter focused entirely around a primalist storm encroaching on Loch Modan itself.

Once this has been concluded we will take a well deserved break to allow every member to experience Dragonflight at their own pace.

However Dwarf rp will be back soon after release as we prepare for new epic stories and adventures aswell as new tall tales to enjoy!

We Morodnir, aside from being adventurers and story tellers, like to pride ourselves on our craftsmanship. And No Morod gets to boast more than Morgrim Coalhammer

While he offers a very bespoke, customisable and personable experience when he makes weapons and armor for people he also occasionally does a little bit of art for our guild of the wonders he makes IC!

Honestly his craft is a joy to observe in its creation (and watching him doodle in a Discord stream is a delight too).

Hello my fellow dwarven friends. I do hope you enjoy what you’re doing. I’ll come back to RP after the current pre exp event which takes a lot of time for me.

Beyond just being a great Dwarf RP guild, these short and stout folks are an amazing bunch of roleplayers altogether. I can’t wait to meet again in Dragonflight!

As well as being the very proud owner of the Morothil axes above, after hanging around them for a week and soaring through the skies together aplenty, I ended up going home with a new razorbeak gryphon companion… try explaining that to the other Huntresses in Ashenvale!

That’s very kind of you! And that’s very typical of anyone that hangs around with our Wildhammer members too long… The important thing is you didn’t stay too long, otherwise the Beard would start to set it.

So, Shadowlands is at an end… (Finally…) And the Morodnir embraced the pre-patch vibe by getting in a fight with a mad band of primalist shaman trying to open one of their chaotic elemental portals on an ‘island’ (mud lump) in the middle of Loch modan!

So naturally before they could summon forth their intended chaos or cause a catastrophic hurricane we legged it to the lake side!

Dodging fleeing murlocs that we graciously showed mercy upon (for now), we pressed on into the flats where we found our way barred by water! With the quick use of the Arcane our resident mages conjured an ice bridge to their foes… but not before being attacked!

Fighting our way across in a bloody slog we eventually decapitated the primalist leader with a… giant thrown Stormhammer (the splat was worth it)

But the portal remained active… and a mighty storm lord stepped forth!

Some of us fended off the Elemental with divine strength and skill… some of the rest of us got violently electrocuted…

And promptly (and rightfully) made fun of for it, Ha!

With a few scrapes and wounds we eventually crushed the lightning foe, recovering a crystalline slither of the storm…

And with that, ends our Dragonflight pre-patch events! Starting tommorow the Morodnir will be on a short IC hiatus while we delve into the new content!

Well what a great way to spend a bad expansion, finding a good fellowship of stalwart dwarves to while away the time when the world wasn’t visible effected by current events.

It is now five years later IC, and two years OC, so what new adventures lie in store for the Dwarves? Will Eadwald finally find love? Will Thrak learn people skills? Will Morgrim bathe? All this and more to come!

Meanwhile, a short story…

The scenery and parched backdrop was deceptive. It was in fact neither dry nor hot on the dusty plain. The sheared and mutilated mesa tops, cleaved by Deathwings passing some ten years prior, misled the mind. It was actually quite cold.

December, in the desert, of course it’s cold at night

The Wizard furrowed a brow, adjusting the scarf clinging to his neck. Knitted wool, thick and comforting, hugging him close. Despite his ancient beard, he felt the deep chill worse now as an older Dwarf than when a young lad. It did not bother him that it stifled as he turned his neck left and right, searching.

You won’t find anything

He’d already told himself, numerous times on the way here, ignoring his better judgment and logical inner thoughts. That the looters, adventurers and ‘authorities’ without a doubt would have picked the place clean by now was not beyond assumption. But here he was, looking anyway.

Worn travelers’ boots crunched the parched sand and crisp frost under foot. Frost in a desert, bizarre, but so real. The glass, he did not expect. Shards and ponds of reflective black glass… The fire must have been so hot it turned the sand.

You won’t find anything

The other Morodnir had gone their separate ways after the battle against the storm lord in Loch Modan. But his brain still itched, despite his wounds, spurring him to find answers. Or more likely vague clues. None of it made sense, these were not twilight’s hammer, these were not regular dragons, and these were not your average elementals.

He frowned, looking around at campfires, dozens of them. The badlands had felt the call and flood of adventurers come to fight the chaotic elements and primal shaman. The battles had been ferocious, colossal fire elements searing rogue black drakes to the bone, and charring the landscape… to glass. And then it had ended as quickly as it had started, leaving confused shamans of the Earthen ring, Dwarven patrols and confused Orcish outrunners to watch the cindered dust settle.

He sighed, using his walking staff to prod at the edge of a curved boulder, rock, mass. He didn’t know exactly how to describe it. It was inactive now, broken and dispelled. The chaotic runes that he did not recognise now sat inert, its power gone. Was there a way to explain it?

Dead, that’s a good word, Dead

The Skeleton of a still smoldering drake lay crushed under one portion of the rock formation. It had been a fragment of one of the bizarre, chaotic portals the primalists had conjured. Apparently it did not favor or appreciate ‘regular’ dragons.

Why here?

Another question, they seemed to be stacking rather than decreasing. More unanswered than solved. The barrens, Un’goro and the Badlands. They had no common denominator, no real link between them. He furrowed a brow, extending a hand to run it over the edge of the stone, the smell of burnt flesh emanating from the draconic bones filling his nostrils…

You are a puzzle indeed

His ears twitched, rustling behind him. He leapt, forming a ball of ice in one hand and holding his staff out in warning… but nobody was there, just the empty, chilled plains of dust beyond. He was alone. But the sound came again, rustling.

He peered, glanced, furrowed wizened brows and eventually found a pile of rocky debris by the broken gate fragment, shifting and rumbling like a tiny mole.

What in the name of…

He prodded it with the bottom of his staff, the dust and sand shifted to reveal an oval. Red and black, scaled and rounded. It shuddered once more then went still.

An egg?

The old wizard leant down, scooping up the strange shape. Its surface was hard, like iron… yet warm, despite the midnight frost. He felt a light stirring within, and a worry rose in himself.

…Just your luck, you found something

We’re still ‘quiet’ though we may pop up in the twilight highlands (or possibly winterspring on saturday night for the Kaldorei event we are attending).

I’d strongly recommend contacting Frolbar our GM in game though, to get the ball rolling!

Happy new year to all Argent dawn. It’s time for abit of an update about the Morodnir’s activities. At the end of November our members have been hard at work exploring every bit of the Dragon isles ooc, farming content and lots of gear. It is however time to look forward and rejoin the rp scene.

With the holiday season now over we will be starting up rp again in earnest. The first order of business will be to bring back our lovely nights of stories and song. On the 5th of January we shall host a tall tales time in Stormwind city.
The day after on the 6th of January we shall depart for the dragon isles and set foot in the waking shores for the very first time.

Our first journey here will focus primarily on exploring, learning and establishing a camp in the region from which our adventurous shenanigans might continue further down the line.

After that is done our intention is to further explore the rest of the isles and hopefully encourage many other rpers to join us there on grand adventures.
