I’m a recently returning player, re-subbing a few weeks ago.
I built a new machine at the end of July:
i9 9900k at stock 3.7GHz
32GB RAM
Gigabyte Aorus z390 Master
Palit Gamingpro RTX2080ti
I don’t know what’s going on, but since the latest couple of Nvidia drivers, I’m getting strange infrequent random texture flickering in game. I only seem to get this in WoW, none of my other games seem to be doing it.
In DX11 mode, the problem isn’t there, and the game plays normally.
I captured three separate instances of this, and put them on the tube:
I have 2 separate g-sync capable monitors;
Asus ROG Swift PG278Q
Asus PG348Q
With or without g-sync enabled, the issue occurs on both screens, so I dont think it’s the screens or a g-sync problem.
I have raised a support ticket.
I’m wondering if it’s related to:
… but that thread seems to cover the whole screen flickering on and off.
Also in that thread, there is talk of rolling back the drivers to something like 430.36. However, there was a critical vulnerability detected in earlier Nvidia drivers, so i’m not doing a rollback…
I´ve noticed the same with the Druid Moonkin Texture and some textures of the Shopmounts - and Pets flickering and then turning black. I´ve installed the latest NVidia drivers some days ago so I think there is the problem. I can live with it if they fix it soon. Good to hear that I´m not the only one.
The problem is the most recent Windows and nvidia updates, the drivers cause Flickering in dx12 to fix this roll back the nvidia driver or keep the current driver and change your settings to run dx11 or turn on vsync in dx12.
I’m using dx11 as for some reason my Windows acts up with the previous versions of nvidias drivers now since the most recent Windows update brightness control doesn’t work and load times ingame are increased if i use a previous iteration. But I’m pretty sure blizz and nvidia are aware and I hope a fix is implemented soon.
Not noticed flickering but have noticed if the MSAA is at the highest, some textures won’t even load up and causes various things to not appear. Saw that around Highmountain main hub where wood wouldn’t load up around the upper platform in some bits and around the lifts. Lowering it down made them work again. DX12 mode of course.
