Early Access - Does it Mark the Start of Rested XP build-up?

I’ve looked but haven’t found anything definitive.

I have early access, but am aware for the weekend, but instead plan to ensure I login to all my characters and place them in an inn, to [hopefully] start to build-up rested XP while I am away.

My expectation/hope is that rested XP will start to accrue from the start of Early Access (for those accounts that are eligible).

Has anyone seen anything that confirms my hope one way or the other?

Or can a Blue or Green give me an indication, please?

Greens have no inside info on that.
And honestly; I doubt any blue who posts here has too.
They’re just posting what they’re given most of the time.

I haven’t seen any confirmation of how it’ll work.
Either way is fine with me; it’s not a big deal to me.

Yeah, it doesn’t matter to me in particular - more asking out of curiosity - as I think it might be something they’ve overlooked.

I’ll be logging in after EA starts just in-case, and will find out whether I’ve got any built up when I get back from my long weekend with the family.

Yeah same. I’ll probably log them in when I’m done for the night, before going to bed.

Yes if you have EA your rested bar will start up on all the characters on that account. So it’s worth doing the relog game to get them all started.

From “tests” that one can do with trial account and the level 20 limit, it is almost guaranteed that Rested Experience starts accumulating when both of the following take place:

  • The character is not at the maximum level available to them
  • The character is in a rested area

So once early access starts, log in once with your characters so that the game registers them as both not at the level cap and at a rested area to start accumulating it.

I’d say it will be I imagine you’ll need to log into the relevant chars to start it

Yeah, as is the usual case - you have to login to start it going. Which is exactly what I plan on doing.

It’s looking like a positive outcome based on Puny’s reply.

Even if it did…

What for ?

All endgame content begins in a month from now. You have ~ 3 to 4 weeks to get to max level and gear a bit.

Isent that enough time ? Why would you want to optimize leveling up so much more than that ?

Why wouldn’t you want double xp on world kills for the duration you’re rested? Seems a bit of a no-brainer to me.

Because you’re prolly max lvl before the end of the obligatory first campaign play through anyway; was like that for the last two expansions, so it doesn’t matter if you get a little more xp at the beginning or not… but yeah, sure, if you can’t start questing instantly anyway, why not get rested xp before starting off later… :man_shrugging:

Double XP is a no brainer.

Going through a whole process to get it… is a waste of time.

Instead of simply playing the game normally.

In your opinion.

But for me it is qualified by the fact that I actually cannot play the game normally for the next 5 days, so going through a process to get that double XP buff for when I return is not a waste of time whatsoever.

Please don’t bother replying Uda - you’re being deliberately antagonistic and you know it.

Rested experience was important back when levelling was slow compared to the content and when said content was static at its challenge. Now the world scales with you, so when you level, so does every enemy. You don’t become more powerful in comparison to the world around you, you won’t be killing enemies and completing objectives faster.

The above, in combination with the fact that even with absolute 0 rested exp bonus and just doing the campaign will get you to level 80 before you finish it, is the reason why we claim that Rested Exp is not important. In Dragonflight I think I hit level 80 at late Ohn’aran?

I will reply… to say you are right…

Thanks, a level of self awareness I have no choice but to respect.

I tend to get defensive quite quickly, so apologies if i came across as rude.

You did not come across rude. Apologies are mine to give.
