Why do you need to be a genius just to play comfortably? For example, I want to level up my twink, and I’m running out of gaming time. I need to save 100% of my available funds for a Token(I still don’t have enough gold for the Token), but I also want to buy a heirloom and 310% flights. If I want to join GDKP raids, where the minimum bets are 20-30k gold, where can I get that kind of money? It feels like you can’t earn that much using the usual methods.
Simple. You don’t.
Game time is not supposed to be constantly purchased with gold.
There is no reason to run gdkp or do any other kind of rmt.
This. It’s like to ask how to live like a millionaire without having a job…
You don’t buy tokens for gametime if you’re not rich already.
I wouldn’t consider myself wealthy in WoW at all. But I have made my gold mostly through just playing the game. Dailies during WotLK (roughly 500g a day), selling random stuff I gather etc. This far in Cata I’ve made a bit from dailies aswell (doing your daily heroic plus Tol’Barad dailies is like 1k gold). Also, leveling alts 80-85 gives you a bit. I’ve also gathered a few Maelstrom Crystals through raid loot that I replaced and disenchanted already, they sell really well atm. Yesterday I sold two of them for 3.4k gold. Sitting at around 95k in total atm. Would still not buy tokens or join GDKP though. GDKP is kinda out of reach for most regular players that hasn’t been a part of the scene for a long time already.
I also find that GDKP is not as popular currently as it was in WotLK. Atleast on my main server. Especially for normal raids, I see a lot more SR runs. So you don’t really have to buy your gear through some sweaty GDKP oiler. I guess this could vary from server to server though.
Join a guild, get gear for free, problem solved.
Feels like this is “I wanna buy gold” topics in disguise.
And just to give my two cents to the topic. No, making Gold in cata is not too hard. It is, in fact, incredibly easy.
Doing quests is already rewarding so much gold here and professions are not too shabby either.
The problem is, that there is so much inflation going on due to players happily buying gold where it becomes difficult to buy gear etc. for a proper player (one, that does not buy gold)
A great example are Maelstrom crystalls on Gehennas Horde. They are so incredibly expensive which they would not be, if there was just a normal amount of gold in circulation.
The good thing is that you can take advantage of this, even as a regular player.
I myself haven’t done it excessively, I just sold every Maelstrom Crystal I got my hands on this far. But a guildie of mine has been living inside of trash farm groups and made absolutely absurd amounts of gold within the last weeks, since people are willing to pay a fortune for the 359 BoE epics.
I don’t believe buying game time token to be worth it.
A month sub is 13€, that’s about 30 minutes of work IRL at my current rate.
Ain’t no way i’m farming 15k gold in 30 minutes.
I also refuse to go the other way around, buying token with € to sell on the AH. It cheapens the experience. It’s the same reason i never use infinite money hack in games, i want the satisfaction to achieve things in game, buying my way to this goal would ruin the experience for me.
Valorboots sold for 30k in the first week of raidreleases, they still sell for about 5-7k (depending in your realm), same with the new valor wrists in firelands.
If you need gold, sell those once or twice and you dont need to worry about gold (unless you do gdkp) for the next 3-4 months.
I made 4 chars to 85 in the first few weeks. I farmed valor ( with 2 mostly ) and I made around 100k by selling the boots. Bought 9 Tokens of 30 days between 9k and 10k. Mostly at 9k as I knew the prices will raise ( 12k+ now ) .
So yea, easy money if you ask me! I think one can still do the same as we speak. The boots are not selling for that much , but selling 2 I think can earn you a token.
People playing on EU servers live in different countries, it’s not only Europian Union countries with avg 10-20€ income per/h, but also CIS countries where avg income per hours is like 2€, so it’s worth it to buy a token instead of paying suub.
Berny made a ton of tokens with inscription.
thats not the point of it
Daily heroic is 100g for me. 1 Tol’Barad daily is 50g and there are 6 of them. So it’s not like 1k gold. Did I miss something?
After blizzard made a miatake and removed region lock, those ‘cis’ abomimation is paying regional price and can play on eu. So it’s totally irrelevant.
Getting token is always worth, but op has a problem making both irl money and gold. So, obviously, problem is not the game
At first, current cis prices are about the same as EU prices, maybe only 10-20% cheper (except of turkey and ukraine, they are significantly cheaper, but in kazakhstan for example they are almost the same as EU price). At second, most of them are russians (yes they can still play, blizz not blocking russian ips or russian accounts, only problem is payment) and they have only 2 ways to pay, its prepaid gametime card for 2 month (cost 26€ equialent) or buying wow tokens.
And the point is?
Condolences needed?
Nope, i just sayed the reason why topic starter need token, and that it’s not 30 minutes of work for absolutely all people in the world. But i agree that it’s his problem that he can’t make enough gold, blizz can’t make token cheaper because of mechanic how it works.
There are 6 in Tol Barad Peninsula, and 12 in Tol Barad - so 18 quests
What the worgen above said. 18 daily quests in total = 900 gold roughly. Then roughly 100 gold from doing a heroic dungeon, and if you manage to pick up something that’s sellable on the way you can make even more than 1k a day for an hours work.
You can also do cooking+fishing daily in Stormwind/Orgrimmar. Takes a couple of minutes and rewards a bit of gold for basically no effort.
