Earning gold; What way do you enjoy?

Hey all! Randomly bored and figured I would make a topic about this as I am flowing back into my gold earning ways again.

What do YOU usually do to earn gold?
What do you enjoy most that earns gold?
What do you try earn it for?
How much are you sitting on right now?
What would you personally never do to get gold?
What would you advice someone to do with their gold earned?

And to note; if you are not activly paying attention to gold gaining;
What is your status of gold atm and what do you do while playing?
How much do you play? Etc.

Anything is interesting to hear about when it comes to this topic! (Except; token /thread, its more interesting to hear why you buy a token and how often if thats your way  )

These are some questions I figured could be interesting.
Personally;
I do lots of different things, I get bored due to ADD (Ad/hd) and end up switching what I do to earn gold.
Sometimes its farm mats, others its tmog, I have also done boosting and raw gold farms!
I currently sit on 1.3mil - never financially recovered from buying my bruto, and after buying it I stopped activly try get gold.
I enjoy seeing gold income from random things I never thought I would see - like randomly selling a gray item on AH for a stupid amount…
I would personally never beg for gold or try get it out of others for nothing.
My advice to do with gold would probably be do not impulse buy - and make a list of what you REALLY want.
If you are trying to save for wow time for example; maybe think about what consumables to buy when - make an effort to see when price is low.

Hope everyone is having a good day and keeping together until DF hits :hibiscus:

I don’t really farm gold. Most of my income is old content and open world loot.

Currently sitting at 120k and the max I have ever had was probably 300k-ish.

The bruto having such a steep price pissed me off quite a bit.

1.i used to farm old raids … but they nerfed it…

2.i enjoyed farming old raids most

3.used to be to buy tokens for game time…

4.i have no clue not very much probably 300k? not checked in years…

  1. buy it

6.Do what makes you happy.

Depends - sometimes I blast the callings and get gold from doing it on multiple alts.

I have a few dual gathering characters I play and selling the mats they generate brings a decent amount of gold with little effort.

I wish I could justify buying the token.
I have fun garhering gold from various sources tho so I guess it makes up for it

Do you feel like the joined region AH helped or nerfed it for you? Curious!
I usually use the mats to craft things unless im in a “no care” spree, then I just list it raw :relieved:

Buying wow token

Working as a cashier to buy wow token

To buy boosts so I can post on forums and pretend that I’m good at the game

As much as my average wage + loan allows me to

Never not buy gold from wow token. Imagine farming it in a legitimate way, literally working in game. What are you, stupid? Just buy it like all normal people do.

Buy some nice boosts so they can be as good as the other people.

I used to do some AH “day trading” before the AH bots took over

Then I went over to doing BFA raids with as many level 50s as I could each week.
Wow was very free for me back then, bought a token a month, sometimes two.

But of course, just like IRS, Blizzard detected too much fun and nerfed the gold income from those raids.

But now I wonder, since they gave me SL and a boost, what my option are if I get a few chars to 60?

Currently on a 3 month sub at a time (Wotlk).
But one day, I will invade SL while people are busy with DF!

Have a good day!

I used to enjoy doing mining/herb runs while waiting in LFG or queueing for random battlegrounds but now that’s kind of shot with the average resource price being slashed by like three times because of the region wide AH. Inflation has still been a thing since WoD that hasn’t been adressed, but usually resources kept up.

Well…

I play quite casually on a smaller server, so linking the auction houses actually helped me sell all my mats much faster. I don’t have the energy to play sweaty with TSM, I just want to list my things and have them sell and since 9.2.5 it’s been much easier.

I dont really do anything to earn gold, I dont have the patience for any kind of farming or grinding.
My main probably has about 450k at present but every so often I go on the AH and splurge on mounts or transmogs or send money to alts for glyphs.
I think making tons of gold in game is as much a commitment as being a mythic raider and sadly I will always be a filthy casual!

Once or twice a year I’ll get lucky and get a BoE from a raid that’ll sell for several 10k gold, maybe even a bit over 100k if I’m very lucky. I don’t actively farm gold or materials. The only thing I need gold for is flasks now and then, although they’re not needed anymore for +15s.

12 inches … … … of… gold?!?

Using the backside… … … of… my knife?!?

Come to see me :smiling_imp: :smiling_imp:

I don’t farm gold, I just do activities in game and that tends to get me enough gold to cover my spending on consumables.
