Sethrak lives under ground. And while they use fem-worgen skeletal base their design are otherwise wonderful.

So they would have been a perfect new race.

Also great race for an androgynous body shape. Or least one where the women are larger than the men.

Because it shouldn’t have been a “race”.

Class → Dracthry, Race → Visage.

All they had to do. Nothing more fluff and everyone would have been happy.

My bet is that eventually they will share the fate of being one of the least popular races between KT and diaper gnomes.

I mean, sure, some people will make a bunch of them for the bearded lady lulz, but it REALLY doesn’t work as addon’s killer feature and main selling point. It barely even works as allied race since we have two Dwarven races already with one of them being slightly abandoned (additional skin/hair tones doesn’t count as proper customization update and we didn’t see new Mole Machines for 3 full addons at this point).

It may be not lazy in terms of implementation (we’ll see it soon), but it totally is lazy af in terms of base concept.

Yeah, I fell in love with that race. I like everything about them. If they become playable, I’m gonna main one day one.

I have seen plenty of people ask for earthen being playable over the years. Same with mechagnomes.

The issue is these arent the ones people asked for. People asking for it seemed to expect the ones wich were in game. With crystaline or stone beards as well.

It just the same issue as the mechagnomes. Some people did want mechagnomes, but not the amputeee gnomes wearing diapers

Wont call it lazy just uncreative. I really dont like this copy pasta called allied races (except vulpera, they are the only one i would consider original), so the earthen drwarves are not something i would look forward to.

Given it’s a titan expansion and the earthen are a big part of wow lore I see why they where added. Selfishly I want tuskarr as a race so badly, but i’m sure the second saga expansion will feature them, quietly confident.

Lazy, boring and dumb. That’s all I have to say about this race.

Mok’nathal and forest trolls are still on hold for some reason. They will probably add a few more elves before them :joy:

They could at least have had crystal hair as well. What good is crystal on the body when your gear will hide it all?

Yeah, I don’t think we will be able to distinguish earthen to the other dwarves in game. If they had more unique features, like stone beards, there won’t be any problems.

I think the problem for me with Earthen (and several other Allied Races) is how unecessary they feel.

All they do, really, is undermine the “Dwarf” identity. All of a sudden, Dwarves aren’t these cool, bearded, stout people living among the mountains of Khaz Modan and siding with the Alliance. Those are just the fleshy kind. Over here, we have the stony Azerite kind that pretty much does the exact same thing, except it lives on a tropical island and sides with either faction.

It’s not as bad as when they gave High Elves exclusively to the Horde in TBC, but it’s arguably worse than when the Horde got the Nightborne. Because Nightborne are different enough from Night Elves that they feel like their own thing. Earthen are very similar to regular Dwarves.

The Earthen thing probably should just have been a small and optional extra cosmetic for all current Dwarf races. Like, coming into contact with the fissure at Khaz Algar in War Within, a few of them underwent a similar change and became infused by Azeroth unexpectedly.

The new Allied Race, meanwhile, should have been something more original and universal, at least if it’s neutral.

I really hope the Alliance gets regular High Elves in Midnight to compensate.
