How blizzard could announce Earthen as a new feature blows my mind. They grabbed a dark Iron dwarf in paint and added stone skin and gems, job done! A reskin really? I know people will defend this as they would die if it meant Bobby got a new boat but please wake up to this madness.
Blizzard love to add things that are unwanted when it has been clear for over a decade the community want unique races like Ogres, Forest trolls, literally anything but a reskin.
The new warbands feature however looks fantastic and is the only saving grace/interesting feature coming in the future. Before the defenders all scream at me, I love this game I have played since classic before many were even born yet I’m tired of being handed a pile of dirt and told it’s chocolate!
I would like to know what others think of this laziness and incompetence and if others think this is acceptable?

Unwanted, yes, but hardly lazy. I would bet this unnecessary minor race with expected 1.2% playerbase will have dozens upon dozens of very intricate customisation options hardly anyone would ever see.

Considering the very concept of allied races, I don’t find them lazy. Honestly, lightforged draenei and mag’har orcs are far more lazy than them.
And if Forest trolls became playable, you really think they’re not gonna be a reskin ?

I disagree it is lazy and incompetent - it’s just not really something we wanted.

Lightforged draenei are just white draenei with some tatoos.

I mean …<.< they could have made an entirely new cool race relevant for the story.
Blizzard has said they want to make new races added to the game where the story of that expansion fits. They could have made this new allied race anything we haven’t seen before…
I mean blizzard has to choose when it comes to how to add new allied races in the game…
Do we stick with the ‘‘Add new races where the story belongs for it’’ Or do we save allied and new races for bigger hype and save new races for bigger expansions?
If you want to make a new race a selling point of a new expansion it might as well be something cool and new. Or something everyone is hyped for… Stone dwarfs? I am not sure how hyped anyone feels about that.
If anything maybe this is how Blizzard feels about adding new races now after all the hate their new races has got. Their just gonna add new races you don’t care either for or against now.

Well, they are fitting to the expansion as they’re related to the Titans. So it’s not a lie.
I’m not excited by them, but I would much rather have something different to existing races.
However this isn’t the first additional race I haven’t been excited by. I’m sure someone likes them.

That is a good point other allied races are even worse and should just simply be a customization option.
I would hope that Forest trolls would not be a reskin and use the huge muscly version of the trolls, but this is my own personal fantasy, with blizzard one thing you can ensure whatever you want, you will be handed the opposite.
I just hope that they’re not the only Allied Race that we’ll be getting during the next expansion. I can roll my eyes and shrug with indifference if the Earthen are just the first to be added.

Yeah, I too hope Forest troll to be differents than the others (even slightly). I just don’t believe it.
But maybe there is a chance. After all, zandalari trolls are differents.

I have been wanting to level a Dwarf so knowing that a new option is coming is quite exciting.
Well thats true… And like puny said there are added allied/new races not everyone is excited about but someones still a fan. I am happy for dwarf fans they got this race no hate on it or anything what so ever.
I guess i just feel like blizzard did the safe thing on this one. Not to risk any negative backlash or forum upheaval they went with a safe new race nobody could hate either for or against.
i love that horde has dwarves now tbh and i prefer them over the stuff people want like things with fin
sincerely i dont hate’em. i think is just useless to have another race with an original one already there.
