DH is fun, has very little buttons to press and nothing to really monitor (buffs)
I never really understood why everyone thinks BM is easy. If you don’t carefully monitor the life of your pets, duration of buffs, cooldowns and all, you won’t do anything and your pet will die 24/7
Bm hunter. Pet doing all damage and you can afk, it is a very simple and easy class. Even though some melee class can be as well you have to move, but as bm everything is so simple and you really dont move that much. When he gets better, he should try other classes, but agree bm for beginners.
Let him play a month or two in your native language then switch the client to English. I learned English only by playing WoW 24/7 with the English client.
So much vocabulary, and so much practice with written and oral comprehension. It’s a great learning tool.
I’ve always told myself I should swap it to German someday but I’m lazy.
Paladin, of course. From vanila to shadowlands, pala always was the easiest pick. Dh is pretty easy to be played decent (hope they will give em more spells), but is hard to master it, cuz of the movement tricks and some rotation you need to keep up to burst, while running around dodging stuff. If you just randomly press your 3 buttons, you wont put enough presure.
If healers are an option then I would say Mistweaver is quite/very easy to start and then bring to somewhat average level (it does need some mana management mastery if like HC raiding is to happen).
If a DPS and he is expected to play solo, level in the open world and alike without boosting and pushing to end game content and parses - then a pet class likely.
People will say BM, but i think BM is bad for a new player.
People have exceptions, and hunters are usually told to do the mechanics.
Dismissing pets, turning growl off (although auto these days), misdirecting, kiting, CC-ing with traps aren’t that easy for new players.
The rotation is simple but thats about it.
Frost DK on the other hand is a simple rotation and people only have one exception of you, and that’s to do damage.
I’d say the same goes for Warrior, more so Fury than Arms.
Not saying BM is hard, it is easy, but it will come with players getting angry at you / telling you what to do.
Hunter is the most noob friendly because you get a pet that tanks the enemy mobs, which leaves you free to do what you want without feeling under pressure like some of the other specs in the game.
Warlock is also not bad either, if he likes magic and spells for the same reason, he gets a void to tank mobs.
Warrior is a favorite for some because of the straight-forwardness of the class, it looks like what you would expect it to do and it can feel good in melee.
It’s up to what he likes or finds interesting, he will learn the class eventually if he enjoys it because when you start with a class that’s all you know, so you accept things a lot easier until you realize other classes can do something more or better than your class can.
You pretty much nailed it with frost Dk and BM hunter. Frost Dk just needs to press what ever button lights up, and BM hunter has a pretty easy rotation. Ret pala is somewhat easy, they dont seem to have many spells anyway.
Dumb question; can he play DH, if he’s never played before? I thought you had to have a class levelled up first…
But BM Hunter is a very solid choice for something simple but effective. And he gets the fun side game of collecting all the pets.
That said… does he need the simplest? Has he never played a game with buttons before? Because I find player QoL goes up dramatically with a class that can heal, tank and dps. The flexibility makes everything group-based so much easier, gives different options without rerolling, and generally just makes you fall in love with the character more.
I personally feel like a great starter class is druid, monk or paladin. Throw him in at the deep end and he’s got 3-4 ways he can swim without having to reroll because he’s bored of queues.
Hunter or Demon Hunter. While Frost DK is fairly simple in terms of button pressing, the resource system for DK is more complicated than Hunter and Demon Hunter.
If I really had to narrow it down, I must say I agree with the people suggesting BM Hunter, as he will have some added activity with collecting pets.
