Ebyssian is not an interesting character

It’s a generic, “wise” peacemonger. He reminds me a lot of Thrall.
Super boring. Super one dimensional.

I would have much preferred for either Wrathion or Sabelian to become the Aspect, after a good old fight to the death.

Oh well. I guess he still sounds more like a real person than Alextrasza, who is by far the most bland of all the Aspects.
Terrible voice acting, too. She sounds so fake and scripted all the time, it makes it impossible to like the character.

Thread 1: All male characters in DF are clumsy, childish, no good role model for men and they never get a leading position!

Thread 2: The new male leader of the black dragonflight is too wise. I want one of the childish and hot headed male characters as a leader!

Ily guys.

As it happens, different people have different opinions.

Nothing out of the ordinary here.

Honestly at this point anyone that still cares about WoW lore is going to be disappointed one way or another, just let it all go. The thumb can write whatever he wants in there tbh.

It’s normal to dislike certain characters. Not a big deal. And you are not from the black dragonflight to decide their fate either. And nobody has to fit to your standards either.

I like him. I liked him back in Legion and I still like him.

Sabelian would have been fine with me too; I like him as well.
I don’t like Wrathion; his personality just doesn’t gel with me, but it’s mostly his dragon model; it creeps me out.

I don’t care, I was so happy to see him shine and shining!

An aspect who is not an elf, human, or half breed, but a damn Sprit Walker Tauren!

I look forward how the Highmountain will react to his ascension, I hope to see a mini event celebration at least.

who cares basic campfire could be the black dragon aspect at this point and it wouldn’t make any difference

heck maybe we should destone Adamanthia and make her the Black Dragon Aspect but i guess the incels would hate that

I wouldn’t mind if Wrathion have died, that’s for sure.
It was obvious that someone else will become the Aspect for the Black Dragonflight, as the the two “main contenders” were both flawed, plus this reputation/support system…yeah, watch me support one of them and then a completely different character wins…who could have thought of that…oh wait.

The point is that he’s just wise. There’s nothing more to it really. Take Ned Stark for instance, he IS wise, but he is so also due to past mistakes, and being wise and clever costs him dearly in the end.

Ebyssian, and any other wow character like Khadgar really, is wise but has no real conflict. You know he will do the right thing, and there won’t be real consequences. When Ned Stark did what he did, the question “was it the best thing he could do?” comes to your mind. Because there would have been pretty reasonable situations where not being just and wise would’ve been way more profitable, but that’s what makes you bond with him: because he stands by his principles even when it’s dangerous and not the best thing to do.

Ebyssian does the right thing and profits on it (much like every good character in the end). It’s an easy win, which makes him uninteresting overall I think. What would be interesting is something like, due to his temperance he’s not the best leader to follow on a war, and instead you would have to choose another one which has many more flaws, but is more resolute in combat. There’s no such case because guess what, Ebyssian is a good general as well, obviously. He cannot lose, and if he does, it would be to become better - you know he won’t ever lose and actually pay dearly for that.

I believe that ebyssian is a better variation of baine.
Given this, it was done on purpose for him to have a one-dimensional personality to aid the two Dragon NPCs who resemble children.

But there IS. You haven’t been paying attention to the story if that’s all you got from him.
He has his own flaws, but he’s open to learning.

Well at least there won’t be any hard feelings when it’s time to put another black dragon aspect down.

Personally I don’t think his flaws are big/complex enough to be considered interesting, they feel more like a cheap backstory to feel somewhat sorry for him - but it’s cheap, indeed.

I like him. He could use a few faults, but he’s exactly what the black flight needs right now and the dynamic he has with his brothers is so refreshing.

It sort of reminds me Brother Bear’s Sitka a little bit… idk

They would so lets do it. Theythink they can dictate what wow should be? Screw them

Dog turds are a better variation of Baine than Baine.

not just him, there aren’t any interesting chars in dragonflight lol , Iskaara npcs are more interesting than new story characters . we’re all seated for alextrazsa and nozdormu action for future patches

That’s the issue.
He’s just too perfect.

He’s nice. He’s wise. He means the best. He’s open to learning. He wants peace.

Zzzzzz.
Indeed, yet another Baine/Thrall copy.
