A lot of things happened and it’s hard to go over all the details cause we actually don’t know everything, and some things are he said she said.
I will present what we know for sure, and then i guess i’ll give my opinion on the matter at the end.
The main issue in the entire thing was the healer from method, Josh. A girl came out with a puplic statement about her experience with josh and that came with a rape allegation, oh and she was 16 at the time, which to my knowledge is not a minor in the UK, but still yikes.
This lead to a police investigation, which turned up nothing.
Idk what happened, but the second method got some concrete evidence that the allegation against josh was true they released him within the hour.
This release prombted people to look into this, and a clip surfaced that showed that the guild/org knew about the investigation, and people felt that the investigation was enough proof to let him go months ago.
It also came out that i believe 2 other allegations had been made against josh to method, but they had chosen to supress them so they didn’t go puplic.
Now it’s unclear if it was due to this or just the fact that josh had been in the guild and done such things, that streamers decided to jump ship from method.
So from method’s point of view there had been 3 allegations against a player in their org. They talked to him and he had a police report saying he was not guilty (different from innocent), and allegedly screenshots showing that he was probably innocent. Method made the play that many companies now a day don’t and that was to not straight up fire someone over allegations.
Then because it turned out he was guilty and method weren’t willing to fire him over allegations, people got mad and hit them with the #cancel
Wish them the best, seeing the reactions of some of the guys in their raid roster after the events i genuinely think they didnt know the whole story, hope they enter shadowlands with a bang.
Pointless name change, doesn’t make them bulletproof from any future accusations of their members
Should have instead hired only female gamers to be really safe
