Prepatch is soon here. If you have an alt with rank 15 cloak already, and have to spend echos to get, lets say full corruption and 8x 12% vers amplifier to play arena on even level with the rest.
So, not counting any items, azerite items, essences, necklace level, leveling up your cloak to rank 15 or such, simply just the echos you need is;
50->125 corruption resist costs 50.000 echoes.
Then the 8x Versatility Amplifiers costs another 40.000 echoes.
So to play on even playing ground, only thinking about the corruption grind, you need to farm 90.000 echoes.
In other words, that is ;
400 mythic +15 dungeons.
Around 900~arena wins ~2000 rating.
360 daily emissaries.
From my experiencer of playing WoW for 15 years, and PvP since season one in TBC, I have never seen a system that’s this time consuming to catch up on. And for people who already have done this grind once, doesn’t have any other benefit for our alts than being able to buy essences for 2500 echoes.
Corruption is soon gone. Let people try out new fun builds, let people catch up, let people play their alts.
Suggestions;
Reduce the cost of everything that costs Echoes by ALOT.
Make Echoes account-wide in some way.
Make people earn echoes way faster, 10x echoes for the remaining time.
I bet there is many other good solutions, I’d love to hear if you guys have any you would like to share. =)

why would you bother with it when prepatch is like in 2-3 weeks?

If you haven’t managed to farm that many echoes in all these weeks/months then why bother now??

Erm… it’s utterly pointless to progress right now. Just chill and wait for pre-patch and new x-pac.

Tell me one other arena season where you had to grind out a thousand wins before actually being on even playing ground - without even thinking about the actual gear, which is rng to get a random piece of 465 when above 2400, otherwise you get one item a week that most likely won’t be the right stats/slot.
I am playing the game and grinding out echoes, but I can also make a post about how stupid the system is, clearly =)
Thanks? And I don’t see how everyone pretty much says “accept the bad system and wait until it’s over”. I have 50.000 echoes gathering dust on my main without any use. I don’t see the issue with some kind of system like with war resources “buy this thing for 650x echoes, send it over to an alt and open it for 500x”.

But what if I enjoy playing arena, but don’t like grinding extreme amounts of echoes to even start playing on a competitive level?

2-3 weeks before prepatch lietarally 0 point /too late.
Because WR gives basicly nothing, u can get uogrades HS, send troops on misions and what not. But with echoes, u could literaly “transfer” power from your main to your alt, next thing people will demand is, ACC wide loot, because my main has like 5 full bags of various 465-75 gear, with various coruptions, like 15 azerite traits az 475/80, yet my new alt got nothing and is 420ilvl equiped… Why cant i send that gear over? I already farmed it on my main, and i wanna enjoy X content without this mindless grind… See problem with echoes now?
I get it, friend reroled like month and half ago? I boosted him how i could he is now finaly full GW under 39 coruption at like 468 ilvl, yet if he wanted to try some different build now he is lost, because he started late…
This has been one of the alt unfriendliest expansions, if not the unfriendliest.
I for one get bored of pressing same rotation for months in a row and switch around to tank, healer, melee, mage, and have 8 characters at 120 with ilvl 473+.
Unfortunately none of them have max corruption in capes, as im currently playing my DK and he is quite far behind in farm, sitting at 72 corruption resistance. Also, im really *** bored of doing daily uldum/vale quests tbh even though I force myself to do the minivision at least
