I returned to the game from 10.0, hearing about the Emerald Dream zone, and I was excited. I am hearing about ED since vanilla, we had a sneak peak in Legion and hearing thats gonna be an entire zone, really hyped me up
So resub, came to play it…beautiful zone, I love how the sunlight hits the grass, I love the music, feels chill and tranquil.
However…there is almost NOTHING TO DO and the little things that you can do, give almost zero rewards.
So I planted some seeds, waited 3 minutes to get what, some mats that sell for a few silvers?
I did the Superbloom event , followed a tree for nearly 20 minutes, at the end of which I got some other crafting mats and a seed to give me some other crafting mats, to sell them for some silvers
I dont get this patch, where are the rewards ?! Where are the story lines? This zone has such a potential …is there anymore to come? Any announcements that I might have overlooked? Will Elune make an appereance? If not in ED, then when?
I got a lot of questions but mostly, how did Blizz management thought this is ok?
We get 0 new content and yet we still keep playing the game. We’re low maintenance indoor plants.
I don’t understand why Blizzard are trying this hard to make WoW 100% about PvE. All these efforts, these new dungeons, raids, maps, questlines…will be outdated within 6 months and the community will ask for them to be replaced.
What a waste of development time.
Meanwhile, give PvP players the 4 seasons versions of already existing battleground maps and we’ll happily keep playing those for another 20 years.
I don’t know about you but i did get one spark on every alt i did that
I did get few epic 445+ items for my alts
Then i collect few cool pets and mounts
and on my druid i collected few new customization for my druid forms…
There are few new achievements that i did complete and i was rewarded with tmog and title…
I’m not saying there is a lot
but there is enough for a 1 week if you not gonna complete everything in 1 day
hm i am quite exited for cata classic pplan to play it really extensively as i adored that expansion when it was current . have a lot of fun in wolk classic.
i given up on DF long time ago - yes i will play in s3 on hunter / prot pala - but honestly for me DF is such disspointment that i literaly cba to log in .
wont lie - wolk classic in ICC patch + h+ dungeons saved my wow sub because i was going to unsub in start of february when my sub run out. but i likely will be playing classic still then .
playing it made me realise how much i miss the traditional rpg aspects of wow and that im mostly done for some time with pushing m+ on alts - im very burned out with m+ and constant rising of challenge bar in those dungeon.
it feels so nice to completly destry gammas at 5200 gs while farming badges to push gear further - just started ICC normal too
wish i could farm tenders by playing wolk . doubt i would log in to retail untill 10.2.5 if i could gonna push for 2 KSMs in next 3 weeks and then it will be just 2x1 dungeons per week.
small hint of salt, ill add pepper on it. could use more frequent pvp tuning and reworks that dont everytime make single class godx tier for the rest of season and so on
i got nothing else, im happy for my player versus player action in video game aslong as i have people to play with and against so blizzard could also try their best and not make seasons die with decisions like retocalypse thrown into season completely wrecking any integrity of balance or the decisions of cap mmr for 3 months so everyone quit and only small margin ever came back 6 months from it to play the last week then
small things and easily avoidable by having some moderation with tunings and with reworks and decisions affecting participations of the season, basically just having common sense
but surely someone should realise that doing wild tuning like 20% increase there and 50% decrease there and 30% increase there affect game immensively, but i agree on that when people give feedback from ptr that it is not good idea to make melee x hit everybody to 20y suddenly with 200k dps burst being bad idea they should listen, thats what the ptr is for to test things lol so i lean towards the having more common sense in general with these type of tuning and reworks
they made yet another rework that completely destroyed the game lol and season 2 it was time for aug to do that on top of the weird decision to cap mmr for 3 months to end participation for rest of the season
more moderation and common sense and its more controlled effects instead always huge swing to some direction and the scales going wild, one side rocketing up and other side crashing down
Well thing is begging on seasons invalidates world content anyway. And i am pretty sure blizzard know this so they just dont want waste resources on something what will be used only for small fraction of time anyway. So they just throw in some recolor event few rares just for sake of it to be there.
So far, I am quite happy with how the Emerald Dream has turned out. I was expecting an disaster, but it’s been pretty good so far. But I agree it doesn’t do it justice from the perspective of a Vanilla player.
There is plenty to do at the moment. But it’s a grind. Modern WoW zones seem to be event based, rather than Quest based. Whereas I think a mixture of the two would be the best experience for everyone.
However, whilst they can only come up with quite frankly irritating characters like Lady Moonberry and Q’onzu I’m quite glad they don’t do many side quests at the moment.
You do get rewards, but as with everything in Dragonflight, they’re far too quick and easy to obtain. In the first week I have collected 8 Mounts, 7 unique pets, and completed 5 Transmog sets.
Emerald Dream, whilst the zone is beautifully designed, is just another serving of “surface content” with no depth of longevity.
ED…thought I was on a different forum for a second.
Anyway, I actually enjoy the Emerald Dream, I think it’s one of my favorite additions in a long time and I’m not even sure exactly what I like about it.
I am a casual player, PvPer, likes to spend time developing alts instead of focusing on one character. So for myself, it’s been nice to be able to sort of reach the “end”, at least for this week or as far as I know, at least I don’t think we’re completely done, so I don’t get ahead of myself thinking it’s over with.
I thought the questing was great and so was the pacing. It felt a little obvious that I was going here and there doing a few quests, and repeating that process over and over. I didn’t care too much about story or whatever else, I’m not a fan of lore, so I didn’t have any expectations of the zone. What I want in outdoor content is the experience isn’t cumbersome, annoying and tedious, as I’ll be doing this with other chars, or at least a few. So, it’s important to me that the quests don’t have a really annoying mechanic to them that I hate to repeat on another char.
I think the zone is nice. It’s cool we get the hang out under a giant tree. I like the condensed size rather than a huge, wide area that serves no purpose. I think it’s the perfect size. I really like grinding for sparks though and bloody tokens. I had a lot of fun fighting on that tiny little island, just mindlessly rushing into a mosh pit, especially if you have an ranged/aoe chars.
tho alliance getting every air supply crate was annoying
joining multiple groups to farm bloody tokens and sparks(i already had the quest completed) still on the same shard
except one where we fought 5/6 alliance below the small island
later we did get one air crate+ some honor including the tour of duty achievement
had enough tokens for the new hellsbloom pvp gear not all slots tho
somehow i liked that(yet it cant compare to horde wpvp drustvar arom stand ganking/defending zuldazar against alliance raids in bfa)
got 3 bounty bags from alliance assasins 3 times(and missed the 4th)
