Either remove Raider.io or

While I usually agree with you there are some people who will buy score boost. Most boosting communities offer that as well, but yeah that’s not many that buy that due to the cost and just opt for the weekly chest

It took me lil less than 10h to reach magical 1k this season.
I think everyone can do the same if they force it.

Celebrating reaching the goal helps - playing only for items could bring disharmony.

I agree. Just give us gear vendors for pvp so we don´t have to do pve.

I am far over 50 dungeons this season i finally got into my first 10’s. It just takes a lot of time to get again working up from 6’s every dungeon. Despite needing to reroll in the first season, so i had less than half a season for this char, and i was still working my way up. But had already 13 and 14 in time  No idea how you did 1k rio in 10 hours. I got thousands of declines on 10’s.

While i disagree with the scum part, because many are just unaware of how unskilled they are, and try to join high keys that they will break without malilce, its true that io is needed. Many just go to a +10 as if it was a warfront level difficulty and expect a super carry.

I came back to the game around ten days ago (had not played since end of Legion), so I don’t have a current raider io score worth mentioning (did some mythics with friends who wanted to help gearing me up), but I feel that raider io is really important and relevant if you play with random people who you don’t know anything about.

If you have a higher level key and invite random folks, you have to have a way to evaluate them, and raider io, while not flawless, gives you a relatively sound way of doing that. Keys get depleted easily and if it’s someone else’s keys, they have every right to be as picky as they want to be, and reduce the risk of failure as much as they can (best option is to run with guild mates or friends).

I actually don’t understand the complaint. You can “play up” your own keys and invite whoever you want. What am I not getting? If you just want to join someone else’s +10, without putting in effort of your own, you have to accept and meet their requirements. Why would someone take you (or me) along when they can get someone who has a lot more experience with this particular content and can “prove” it by their rio score?

Everyone wants to get the content done as easily, reliably, and quickly as possible. You do too, and so do people whose keys you want to use.

You’re acting as if a small percentage of players who might get boosted or carried invalidate the whole system. That’s not the case, and yes, the people who didn’t “earn” their r io score are a very small minority.

It’s about averages. Compare these scenarios: you have a +10 key you want done. For your first group, you invite anyone who has the minimum ilvl you required, and you don’t ask for any score. Basically invite the first person who queues and has a role you need.

The second group you only invite people with +1k score. Which one is more likely to clear the dungeon in time, or at all? I’d bet my money on the latter. And I have a lot of experience from playing in groups that didn’t require anything apart from ilvl. They’re really bad.

So no, just because there is a possibility that someone bought their r io score or got carried etc etc it doesn’t mean you should just drop the whole system. It’s the same thing with curve. People complain that it doesn’t mean anything (you’re right, it doesn’t, since curve is so easy to obtain) but there is still a huge difference between a group where everyone has curve (“legitimate” or not) and one where you just invited the people who were fast enough. You have to be delusional to think otherwise.

Everyone says ”create your own group”, but what noone thinks of is what you have to endure when doing it:

• Set a decent item level restriction relevant to the key level; the people around that number always perform badly.
• You write in description ”for noobs, no r,io score required, don’t leave.”; spends an eternity wiping which results to most likely the timer running out or someone leaves.
• Spend 30+ minutes trying to find a tank and healer; the group most likely disbands as noone wants to do lower keys other than 10+.
• Noone joins you because your mythic+ score is low, not even if you have 395 ilvl and Jaina Curve+ first BoD mythic boss achievement.

The list can go on forever, these are the most common points.

Closing stats analyzed by raider io likely won’t help much, people will just switch to analyzing something else.

What would change it is either:

(a) Blizzard’s own rating system - if it is rich enough, or

(b) solo queue.

The real solution is (b), because (a) continues to produce frustration, just using Blizzard-sanctioned metrics.

Offtopic but you have been missed on forums

I am already baffled about the assumption that someone who makes a post here about rio, is not using their own key. I am doing both. Am i doing it all wrong? For the record; my +8 key got 2 times wasted on a DC from 1k+ rio previous season. I have a 6 key now, despite my 11 done in time (which was a terrible run when you look at efficiency).

Thank you! They’re a huge time sink, but I can never resist. Hope life has been good to you!

I’m not saying you did but they aren’t going to get a high score like 1.4 if they can’t do tactics or perform in mythic keys. They’ll keep depleting and they wont increase their scores.

Raider io isn’t guaranteeing someone can do a key, it’s a reflection of their experience. It is simply a tool. The in game addon will show you the highest key they’ve run, how many keys they’ve done on time. When people apply for your group you can also see the highest key they’ve done for that particular dungeon. And of course their score.

You said that much better than I did. :+1:t3:

Which is why people use raider io. It’s an attempt at providing a solution, it’s not the problem. Random people just don’t know you, and they want to avoid some of the issues you listed. What other options do they have? These issues would still exist without raider io, and you’d probably have to deal with them more frequently if you’re an experienced Mythic+ player.

But I really do believe the overall best solution is to befriend people and join an active/supportive guild. Modern WoW focuses a lot on being able to do everything without guilds or other social networks, and there have been times when I really enjoyed (and needed) that flexibility and freedom. I used to pug a lot, because I could come and go when I wanted. But it was never efficient or easy, and pugging doesn’t provide much, if any, space for actually learning the content.
