Either remove that thing by not granting it access to Mythic+ data or simply bring back PvE and PvP Gear again so I don’t have to do PvE for good gear.
I’d have nothing against it if it wouldn’t affect me that much as a pvp player since I only want to do 1 M+ per week for the gear and don’t touch it after, but main pve players with a 1.3K score thinking that they’re good is just annoying - And getting declined by them is even more like a punch in the face.
I might aswell start requiring 3K+ Arena Exp for PvP Island expeditions or the 25 kill quests and it would be more reasonable than RaiderIo.
Edit: I’d prefer letting players choose their content (PvE or PvP) instead of removing raiderIo but something needs to change
raiderio is the pve version of arena/bg rating, not being invited to a 2.2k 3v3 team as someone who hasn’t done any pvp at all sure is a punch in the face.
Do high enough key and you will always have a high enough personal key. Or do a guild run and it’s done. Raider IO or similar systems will exist to solve flaws in a system that doesn’t rank players for a ranked content (M+).
You can register on their website, bind all your characters under one account and turn it all on private …
But it will solve absolutely nothing, people probably forgot that things like IL still exists and its freely accessible ingame, then you have things like Gearscore and even before that comes (personally most beloved by me) “Inspect at [Insert hub name ] flight master”
Problem is, there is no real measure for people skill, all these tools only try to help you with decision.
You will never get rid of bad people and that goes for both sides, you can have people with 88797 IL and 78648748 rio score and they will suck.
And you will have hosts who will turn you down because of low rio score but wont notice you cleared single dungeon on +8954 difficulty while wearing gray pants …
RIO is literally the only way to filter out the scum from M+ because ilvl and achievements don’t mean anything anymore.
Today I did 5 M+ as a tank. Here’s the results:
my +2 key. Did some minimal filtering with RIO. Upgraded to +5
my +5 key. Did some filtering with RIO. Uprade to +7
my +7 key. Did some filtering with RIO. Uprade to +9, may have been +3 if the DPS was better and I didn’t overpull once. I also had to kick two people because they refused to even use food even though the title of the group said “bring consumables”
joined a random +5 Temple of Sethralis. Some guy dies to Aspix’s shield 10 seconds into the fight. Another guy dies to Cyclone Strike. This more or less repeats 3 times and the group leader leaves.
joined another random +5 Temple of Sethralis. Itemlevels seem low as hell (people have blues). I ask them if they know the mechanics - long silence followed by “pls remind me just in case I forgot” from the group leader. I explain stuff. Paladin runs out of mana as we reach the boss. Tell him to drink; he responds that he doesn’t have any food on him. After resetting the boss twice we finally kill it with me and the warlock basically duoing it. Obviously we don’t finish the dungeon in time after multiple “oopsies” and me explaining every boss. If I wasn’t outgearing the dungeon they probably wouldn’t have been able to finish it.
I don’t even attempt to do M+ as a DPS without my guild anymore as finding a tank below 1k that has a decent chance of not being a dimwit is exceedingly low.
Raider io is just a tool to see what experience people have and assigns them a score. It can be a useful tool. The biggest problem is how people interpret the data it provides.
Just like any pug content, you along with numerous others are applying. If the group has the choice of a healer/dps/tank with a higher run on the key they are pugging than you, then you may find that you aren’t chose. For every key listed, lots of people apply. The higher the key (to a certain extent) the larger the volume of people signing up.
If you are pushing a key you are more likely to want people with a high score and experience at high level for the key you are pugging.
I agree with this, however having a score does not mean that you’re good for the content but simply that you’ve completed dungeons in groups at a certain level.
I’ve seen groups that over-exaggerate the need for a RIO score when they then become the issue as to why the dungeon doesn’t get timed.
The addon doesn’t resolve all problems because a lot of the issues with bad dungeon runs is mostly down to human error from at least one player in the group.
It really depends on the score. To do a +10 on time in every dungeon gives you a nice 1k score. Those that are pushing higher keys will have a much better score. For example if you have a score of 1.5k you are likely doing +14/+15/+16 keys on time.
So it depends on what content you are doing as to what you want to look for. You don’t need a 1.3k rio to do a +5 Freehold.
Its only really a minority of the player base who are on those sorts of keys though, and most often these people have either formed their own team with people they know or play with their guilds.
I’ve seen +5/6 keys ruined by 1k RIO scored players and I’ve seen people with little to no score absolutely ace dungeons and carry those with high scores. There are way to many scenarios for RIO to be used as a definitive answer to “will this person time/+2/+3 this dungeon?”.
I quickly found a dislike with M+ on this character during season 1 and it was mostly due to peoples perceptions on what they read from RIO, I’ve not completed a key in season 2 on this character and instead got my mage from 110-120 and started with that instead.
Very ironic considering you joined the many people who have created “I quit” threads which ended with you deciding to quit “quitting” for the time being.
Except it’s still a crap tool. It simply means that you invest time into it, you don’t have to be good or even decent with your class or role. In fact most of people with 1200+ score only think inside of a box and have a massive panic attack if you don’t clear keys by the book.
Now remember how often it is that 4 people can sell 10+ keys to the 5th guy for gold and whatnot. It proves that m+ content can be done with 4 people and fifth one being carried intentionally or not.
Now, imagine 5 people doing the 7+ key with one of them being a braindead ebay hunter who just bought his 390 character acc. Now imagine how he gets carried through the M+ content. It doesn’t matter how many tries it took him, he might as well finish 1 out of 50 in time. In the end of the day that said ebay rio raider has 800 or whatever rio score. Now he can do the same thing over and over with higher keys because he has high score. And one day he will have 1400+ rio score with gorgeous 7k dps in the end of the dungeon.
At least when you look at warcraft logs you can spot a person who is bad at pressing buttons. As in seeing someone with orange/purple logs in the raid based on overall ratings and then having grey logs based on their ilvl performance.
Thing is, in most cases with mid-range keys it is enough to just see that the person in questions has completed the dungeon they are signing up for.
For example, if I make a group for Underrot +7 and see somebody that has completed a Underrot +6 in time I will most likely take this person over somebody with a higher score that hasn’t done an Underrot or has only completed a +2.
Knowing a specific dungeon is more important than having a high score, especially on Tyrannical. My earlier examples show exactly that - if I was building those +5 Sethraliss groups the people that had no clue what they were doing would most likely not have been chosen, because they clearly had never done a Temple +5 on Tyrannical before.
In addition you can inspect their armory for red flags using the addon. If you see somebody with no gems or enchants there’s a good chance that that person will also have a similar neglect towards consumables and dungeon knowledge.
It’s obviously not a foolproof tool, but it’s still far better than just relying on ilvl.
I highly doubt someone buys a boost run for every single key to get a perfect score. Most boost groups just boost a +10 for the weekly. I also doubt they get a 1.4k score.
Raider io is just a scoring system for what you have done. It gets a lot of hate but all it does is translate your experience into a score. Wowprogress also does the same only not as efficiently.
Your comprehension of the comparison I was making clearly isn’t there.
As for attacking my mental capacity, you hardly reflect someone of higher mental capacity by replying to this thread with things like “hurdur” to get attention.
I can see why these forums go off the rails all the time when people like you just like to act like trolls here…
You’ve contributed no actual real dialogue to this thread.
I never said that someone would buy literally every key, I’m saying that people can be carried through it even if they don’t intend on being carried.
Plus you get raider io score even for failing the keys in time.
That’s why you ignore the score and look at the completed dungeons and whether they have completed the dungeon they are signing up for in time at a similar key level before.
Sure, bad players can get carried, but you can still reduce the chances of getting bads in your group by looking at their profile. RIO is a tool and as with any tool you need to know how to use it. Otherwise it’s useless
