I don’t think she’s bad but she’s not good either. She’s the host and she’s alright in what she’s doing but if we compare her to Rich she’s obviously just worse in every aspect.
The talking in between is completely obnoxious and unnecessary anyway so who cares really.
There’s a difference between good information, and too much good information. A cast where they overanalyze everything is not fun to watch.
I’ll take Eiya any day over Rich. Rich reeked from “I’m a big boy caster, look at me” attitude, and no matter how knowledgeable he was, this made me watch any show with him on mute (if at all).
He is host - and he didn’t have any knowledge. His job was too be goofy and entertain people so these who tuned AWC for the first time and have no clue about arenas can laugh a bit and enjoy games not being smashed with information about the game.
Eiya is literally not adding anything to the show. She is talking the most obvious things and she literally put 0 hype or feeling into it. She terrible as caster because she talks like robot. To host something you need to hype people before the games and Rich did it. I can tell you Eiya wouldn’t be able to hype 5 y.o. kid telling him that he is getting full bag of sweets. I have nothing against her personally but she isn’t good fit for the job. She has not talent for being host. They should look for someone else from the community or hire a professional from a dying esport or whatever. It’s literally going ultra low budget with hiring someone who has literally 0 qualities for the job hoping that maybe in 1-2 years she will be acceptable. No she is not. I wish her all the best but hosting isn’t her thing. Saying she is good is like telling a boxer with 2-11-5 record he is going to be a World Champion. No he won’t.
He utterly failed at that, though. Entertaining and Rich is two words I’d never use in the same sentence. If I have to mute a stream because the host is so obnoxious, that’s not entertainment.
She’s not the best, not by a long shot. But she’s better than Rich.
If he failed then he wouldn’t be hired by Valve where he hosts dota and earns few times more money. He has natural talent for this. He is goofy and you may not like his sense of humor but he is charismatic nonetheless. He made people hyped, he joked around when arenas were boring due to dampening and he had good chemistry with guys. Eiya is literally neutral if she is not there nobody would even notice.
Just because he has a well paying job doesn’t mean he’s good. For an example, witness politics. Pays well, most are absolutely unfit for the job. But there’s a zillion examples in other areas aswell. (Like Rich being hired by Valve :P).
But he is hired by Valve because he was doing his job well for Blizzard and he caught attention. He was hired to do the same job because he did it great somewhere else. Politicians are earning a lot but it doesn’t mean they are great at what they are doing. They have to sell themselves but in fact noone really knows if they are good at economics or whatever they will be taking care off while Rich was hired as caster because he was a good caster. He was a trial first during Major in China and people loved him so he is now on perm contract. You basically don’t like him and his sense of humor. Let’s be objective here he is 100x better host than Eiya no matter if you like him or not. He was able to make other casters joke around and make fun while Eiya just radiates boredom. If she is not there I won’t see any difference. She is not adding anything to the show.
At least Eiya had more balls to speak out about mc bug while others pretended it’s not there, she also pointed out that if it wasn’t the seed, wealthy wouldn’t make it.
But it’s not her job. She is not an analyst. Other three are. She is just a host and she is bad at it. Let’s be clear. I have no personal agenda towards her - she is just bad at hosting.
That’s your personal opinion nothing more( he is not naturally gifted of w/e, otherwise I would agree with you right?). I personally dislike both, but at least Heya ( sorry for typo) does let other people talk. Rich was just all over the place spewing nonsense.
I can see why people like him, but I don’t, and I’m sure some people will share my opinion. I don’t see any charisma, just a kid trying to get all the attention.
Now Heya could improve but she’s just begun. If we’re talking about getting Azael back though…
Never seen any hype ever when it comes to wow arenas. Its actually impossible to do since the game is usually awful. In most cases its obvious whats going to happen/whos going to win. It has to be actually such a hard job to hype people in most scenarios (for example during 70% damp games in bfa where everyone knows what happens in 10 minutes of game means nothing anyway).
If theres something i dislike its the UI which doesnt show what spells people pressed and what buffs/debuffs they have (except target) since its kinda important when for example affli locks/resto druids play.
Eh well, I agree, she’s not great. But I have a feeling she just does what she’s being told to do. From what I have seen she always asks the same kind of questions to get the other three talking.
It seems to be clear, before anyone is mentioned and before the question is being asked, who answers it. It’s just very…static in that way.
The live-comments, without the overexaggeration (so unneccesary), are quite nice tho. The inbetween talk is just time-filling nonsense anyways.
If i recall right she was the only one speeking the truth that there was the MC Bug with the mindcontrolled one lagging and teleporting around the arena like crazy and she was the one calling out that this one RMP team only won because they had SEED in arena and it got healed through the damage. she said if they had chosen any other covenant they would have lost.
so alone for the fact that she speaks the truth she has more charisma than all of the other simps at the casting deck
