Whole my life I’ve been an elemental shaman, I raided hardcore loooong ago, in WotLK times, and I was top of dmg meters, like always. When we were pushing ICC as a new content and be4 that in the Trial. Did some hard stuff like Tribute to dedicated instanity, have that rare horse, title, etc.
After that I had to raise kids and do so much IRL stuff that I didn’t have much time to raid or even log into WoW. Yet I played casually, on each class at some point, but in the end I was always coming back to my shammy. And these days I finally got time to raid, not an uber guild or anything, but we’re doing stuff. Aaaanyway, this post isn’t about me. I can cry you a river, like I first raided in this expansion as elem, but seeing it can’t do break even with other classes on the same ilvl, even in AoE builds on AoE fights like council, I rolled enh which I had all the gear for - same results only slightly better.
So, let’s look at the stats - people do post them to warcraftlogs website and if it represents anything - shamans are literally the worst dps class. Check top 100 damagers for every boss fight in the Vault. Some has ZERO SHAMANS, some has like 1 or 2 and it’s mostly the big names, that 0.1%, the exceptions that only strengthen the rule so to say.
At this point our spec doesn’t matter, we just suck, end of story. Devs doesn’t seem to care. Ele’s getting some meaningless talents shuffle at best.
I beg the devs look at shamans once again and check the statistics. Something has to be done, because right now outside of maybe some PvP the class is dead. Even resto sucks with the worst AoE healing in game.
Enhancement here (405 ilvl) only do heroic raiding and m+15-16 and I can always keep up or top de meter
Few days ago, at Kurog, there were two other enhacement shamans in the party. We finished top 3 on the meter. Was so proud
Enhancement is in a really great spot, even if it’s not top dps we’re not far behind (don’t really care about a few % difference between classes). It’s the rotation that is a bit tricky to grasp and can cause some issues especially in mechanic heavy fights, where I sometimes lose track of what I was about to press
Unfortunately the devs are not checking EU forums, just US or reddit/twitter. I cried rivers about ele shaman problems but to what end, we got a 10% in lightning bolt lol that people are only using as fillers when nothing is up
Theres so many issues with the shamans…no cleave…forced to spec ST or AOE without a mix spec…different stats for M+ to raiding…AOE needing a long time to ramp up…
I just stopped engaging in end game content for now, staying AFK in Org
Sorry but what kind of statistics are you seeing? There is currently no statistic that shows shaman as worst dps (any of the 2 specs).
For enhance, the spec has never been in a better spot overall (speaking strictly about pve).
For Ele sure, I do not have the expertise to say, but the community perception is that it is not particularly powerful.
If for any reason you cannot compete with other players in dps, then you can ask the discord for help.
I for one, do not feel that enh is weak by any metric.

Even when ele is at the bottom of vault raid dps, they still be calling people bad
That’s a Terros log, correct me if i’m wrong, but isn’t enhancement like in the top 3 specs for that fight for 100 parses, and still top 10 for any percentiles in mythic, even better in HC and Normal.
It must be truly horrible to be a shaman :(((

While they’re not great atm, it’s more than playable.
And the stats will be skewed since Shaman currently offers a better alternative in Enhancement. In fact, let’s compare with enhance.

Exactly where i said they were, if you change yours from 95th percentile to max, you’ll see Ele jump 7 spots on the rankings, and from there you can check each boss…
That indicates Ele really need som quality of life changes, because that is a big jump from your decent players to your best players.
Either that, or there are not a lot of elemental players because enhancement is doing so well.
So Ele might be even higher if the top top players switch back to ele instead of enhance…
And if you actually then look at each boss instead of an overview, it becomes very clear that where ele suffers is ST or 2 target cleave ect, when they have consistent 4+ targets that arent spread, they’re really good… we see it especially on council, and hints of it on Eranog.
You did get a rework in Legion the nighthold patch if i remember correctly.
If you think Shaman needs a rework if it takes as long as for Ret you will be waiting 8+ years or 4+ expansions.
So i hope you have patience.
I think they need to STOP reworking us, only gone one way since BFA. And the way you played ele in bfa is still possible, it’s just not optimal because of tunning.
