Ele sham or Surv hunt?

I mostly come back to these two specs, but I’m not sure what’s a better class to main.

Survival Hunter is all over the place, has a ton of complexity (high skill ceiling, a good thing imo) and is competitive. It’s also a fairly good duel class. Although nobody duels anymore, I like to have 1vs1 potential.

Elemental has great wombo-combo potential with the slot machine/talent combo, but honestly seems like it could get boring down the line. Hard casting certain spells feel terrible - Lightning Bolt being a resource generator and nothing else, chain lightning only being good for bgs. Also not sure how good this class is for duel scenarios? Seems easy to train even if they have good defensive cds with primal elementals.

Anyone got any recommendations/takes on the matter?

Ultimately I just don’t want a spec that is dead in the water for any of the pvp venues (rbgs, arena, duels).

I have looked at other classes/specs, such as Feral, but I get bored of Feral within a day.
also don’t have much interest in healing in PvP.

Survival is strong overall, good 1v1 potential, very good in 2v2 and has also decent comps in 3s. Great mix of high sustain dmg, burst and cc tools. Ele has high pressure potential in 3s and BG’s and lethal burst if left to free cast but gets rolled over by certain melee classes (rogues, DH’s, DK’s and fury warris especially) due to limited defensive tools and risky cc tools since its cc’s are all tied to one spell school so an interrupt to nature school is mostly fatal. So all in all good in coordinated play, in 2s you need a healer but not so great in solo scenarios a.k.a. most PvP open world content.
