There are alot of mechanics overall which are ridiculous (i.e. warrior mobiilty combined with their huge ms and damage) but right now the biggest outlier is elemental damage, both numbers and mechanics. Get to work on this now.
Elemental is fine in till they nerf the melee meta of being able to easily stick and shut down casters.
Fix that and then you can nerf elemental damage and boost their defences. Otherwise you’re basically making shaman have no spec to play in PvP.
And yes, thank you blizzard for the -25% nerf to enhance months ago. Also the direct self healing nerf this coming patch. Enhancement is literally the worst spec in PvP, no spec comes close to his bad they are right now.
It’s my opinion, you can probably go to the tens of websites that track PvP performance too and it’ll correlate with my opinion.
Not saying you can’t enjoy ele or other melee specs, but enhancement is so far down in PvP it’s actually farcical.
Hop on an enhancement shaman, with limited defences, you have to substitute damage to self heal to stay alive. Even then, your heals are bad and they’ve just been nerfed, let’s not even mention mortal wounds! You then run out of mana after 4 casts, your earth shield gets purged. You can’t stay toe to toe with any other melee so you have to kite, as a melee! Then you think to yourself, why am I kiting as a melee when I could just be elemental and actually do some damage.
That’s why elemental is strong, that’s my whole point. Nerf melee mobility and ability to shut down casters, then nerf elementals ability to throw instances for huge numbers.
Casters should cast. But in this meta it’s too easy to lock them down, ele is strong because they don’t have to hard cast.
I preferred PvP when decision making with abilities was more important, nowadays it feels people press abilities on the fly and never get punished because they have 2 charges or countless other similar abilities as a back up. Also the cooldown on these abilities are far too low.
Everyone has a lot but some casters are over the top. I speak only for myself but playing in casters is so much more unfun than playing a caster into melee. Since ele atleast can kite. What can I do if I get a big map? Die?
No its not. 2 x melee should be able to shut down a caster unless that caster gets help. That makes perfect sense. It would actually been extremely wierd of 2 x melee couldnt shut down a caster to some extent.
The problem is that elemental basically does the same potent burst damage as when not being trained at all (im not saying sustained, im saying burst) with only the instant casts and ascendence procs. Elemental should not be top damage in a SS when there are two casters on it, it makes absolutely zero sense.
As a marksmanship hunter, if im trained I will get absolutely pathetic damage out and I will die. Its not possible to kite 2 x melee atm without getting help, which is the way it should be.
Its one problem that warrior right now has the mobility of 2 x melee though.

yes ur right , a healer can keep an ele up but…considering the vast majority of players in lower brackets are melees, 2 melee vs Ele = meme
also, a frost mage has just as much as instant cast but usains bolt across the map with 1718910287 defensives and invulnerabilities and endless cc …and stay tuned for destro warlock new meta
what do you guys expect, to be able to train an ele having 100% uptime with 6 total interrupts from 2 melee, but he has to hard cast during this time? a bit unrealistic, no?
