From Elemental’s shaman perspective, Farseer hero tree has been fully designed with single target in mind, and is completely useless in AOE. It has limited usage in 3 target scenarios, but considering how rare that it, and how bad it is in M+, this tree needs complete rework to be able to deal AOE damage.
First issue is that it has only one talent that improves aoe damage - Maelstrom Supremacy, which increases earthquake damage by 15%.
The other increase to AOE damage comes from summoned ancestors. They cast their copy of chain lightning, which only hits 3 targets and does not benefit from overload, when shaman casts their aoe spell.
THIS IS ABSOLUTELY PATHETIC.
When you compare it to Stormbringer, a tree that is fully build around new spell that does AOE damage, has plenty of small bonuses to crit/mastery/haste/overload/nature dmg, gives Stormkeeper, applies lightning rod, it’s not even close. Compared to Stormbringer in Mythic+, Farseer does zero damage. It’s completely unviable.
Another issue is that Farseer is build around Primordial Wave spell, which requires multiple targets to be affectd by Flame Shock.
Currently Elemental does not have a reliable way to apply Flame Shock to 6 targets.
If you really do not want to give Elemental ability to spread Flame Shock on the spec tree, it’s fine, as Stormbringer does not really care about it.
But it’s critical for Farseer.
Just add a talent to Farseer that easily spreads FS, or rework Primordial Wave to disconnect it from Flame Shock.
Or you can simply make Primordial Wave apply Flameshock to 6 targets, before it deals damage to it.
Ancestors need to be reworked as well.
In AOE they cast chain lightning that hits 3 targets.
What is required at minumim, is to create a choice node talent, where first one would increase target count to 5, and the second one would replace chain lightning with earthquake.
Or you can simply make ancestors cast their copy of the same spell you are casting.
Farseer is permanently dead in M+, and I would like to see it change.
