Hi, so I decided to feed my alt addiction. I just wanted to ask would you recommend elemental or enhancement as the main spec? Especially including how the specs preform in shadowlands. Obviously this may be subjective and down to personal tastes and whilst I’ve played a shaman some time ago, I felt that survivability as an enhancement was rather squishy.
So yeah, anyway any advice or recommendation would be really appreciated.
There’s no plans to fix survivability. Blizzard using Menek officially announced that ‘Ankh’ is your defensive talent and you have to have a skill to use it.
Because of lack of survivability You have to play super safe to not die so you can do any damage.
According to DPS ranking for Shadowlands Both Enhancement and Elemental Shamans are at the very bottom of DPS charts. Search for “wow beta shadowlands dps-rankings” and see for yourself.
Single target DPS at this moment is
2.46k for enh
2.54k for ele
3.98k is top dps and glory comes for sub rogue (61% better)
AOE DPS at this moment is
2.8k for enh
3.35 for ele
5.66k for sub rogue (twice as enh shaman - 102% better))
With a minimum spell choices a rotation is awful with alot of gaps ( lvl 50 )
With max spell choices you can have simultaneously even 15+ different spells and 5 totems to press, so there’s no way you can press them all during a blood lust even (that’s also on lvl 50). Bare in mind at lvl 60 there will be more talents to press. Over complicated.
Enhancement Shaman is my main at the moment and my opinion is:
“Avoid”. Avoid both specs… avoid Shaman completely.
Enjoy spamming Blizzard for fixes.
Completely agree with posters above. Avoid unless we see changes before SL launches which I doubt to be honest. I was hoping to have decent enough changes to the class so that I could main it again since I dropped it in Cata but alas…looks like it would remain yet another alt.
