Elemental Shaman and spell cast ranges (specifically Lava Burst/FlameShock)

Hey!

Currently loving how Elemental feels playing dual wield with big mana regen, it’s very cool. Overload buff was fantastic as well. The biggest issue with the whole spec, taking later phases in mind, is the 20 yard Flame Shock range, while Lava Burst is 30 yards.

It feels extremely clunky having to run almost melee range to press Flame Shock → starting to cast Lava Burst → the NPCs basically pushbacks you twice on your cast before you get your Lava Burst off, because of how low range Flame Shock is.

Next phase you can take talent to increase range on Lightning Bolt and Chain Lightning, which will make things even weirder, having a 36 yard LB/CL, 30 yard LvB and 20 yard Flame Shock.

Suggestion: It would be lovely if the Glove rune for Lava Burst also increased the range on Flame Shock by 10 yards, to at least match the cast range on Lava Burst. Would feel a lot less clunky.

Completely agree. It will mess with raid positioning as well later. Similar to how Shadow Priests have to stand close to bosses to flay.

It only makes sense

Your observation about the range disparity between Flame Shock and Lava Burst for Elemental Shamans in Season of Discovery is insightful. The suggestion to have the Glove rune for Lava Burst also increase the range on Flame Shock by 10 yards to match Lava Burst sounds like a reasonable adjustment. This could indeed enhance the fluidity of the Elemental rotation and gameplay.
