Is it just me or did elemental lightning spells go from sounding like actual heavy thunder to sounding like some wimpy cartoon electric fence?
Does anyone know a addon that can sort this?

Agree. Sound effects of whole shaman overall went from awesome to garbage.
Agreed. Chain Lightning is still satisfying, but Lightning Bolt went from a booming thunderous impact to looking and sounding like a fizzy blue energy drink.
