I created a custom display for Details! that shows avoidable damage taken.
It uses GTFO as a database for avoidable spells to track.
I did a quick check in Plaguefall, as you can see:
I took some damage, Toxic Pool (DoT) in particular is a source of damage you take if you stay in a pool, so it’s definitively avoidable, and GTFO will shout at you for slacking in this.
If I switch from “Damage Taken” to the custom display “Avoidable Damage Taken”, I get this:
So, this is essentially ElitismHelper, but it won’t behave like a jerk, because:
- it won’t spam fails while in combat
- it won’t spam how much total avoidable damage was taken at the end of the dungeon
Instead, it’s a tool that can gives you valuable information in real time without disturbing the flow of the fight, because it’s a Details! display, just like any other damage/healing meter. Which means:
- you can tell at any time what happened and to who.
- during your raid, you can then specifically say to that player who is struggling with some mechanic that he really has to be careful with said mechanic.
The following is the import code for the custom display.
To import it:
- open Details! option panel (by clicking Details! button or typing “/details options” in the chat, without quotes, of course)
- click custom display in the left menu
- click import. A textbox appears at the bottom of the Details! window.
- paste the import code below, and click “import”.

Now, in order to see the avoidable damage taken report, all you have to do is select it in the rightclick menu, as you would do with any other report.
