… just to say joined a group today on what appeared to be a Russian server, we waited … and waited … and waited and … 5.5 hours later the cute little thing spawned right next to me!
… I was in shock for a few seconds … and then I spammed the raid to get to me ASAP … result we all got it!
(It does seem smaller than the other lost alpacas around it)
( I had a simple macro /tar elusive quickhoof - worked for me)
Was quite a good rapport with the players, making sure all spawn points were covered and swapping around when people needed a few minutes break
Some people had given up at the 3 and 4 hour point so just wanted to advise to persevere it will happen!
Observations
We were in WM off and we heard that the WM on spawned twice in the time period we waited - so seems a better rate on WM on … maybe!
The Horde assault was on at the time and had 40 minutes to go when we got it, so it didn’t impact us - phew!
Raid leaders kept changing and we worried that we wouldn’t get it - sharing etc however we did seem to stay on the Russian server so yet another phew!
I had also heard that if you have fed the Uldum alpaca before attempting this, then you won’t get the mount - I can’t vouch for this as I did it the other way round and got the elusive quick hoof 1st then popped to feed the friendly alpaca - 2 more days on that for me yet

I’ve joined a few raids that disbanded after an hour or two due to impatience. The last one that I was in that came out a success kept the positive vibe and the desire ramped up. After 2 and a half hours we got it.
Feelsbadman for the guys that left 15 minutes prior. Just commit and you’ll be rewarded.
Oh man, the elation everyone felt! It was a group celebration for a solid 5 minutes. As much as I dislike just hanging around camping for something, these moments really bring people together in the best way.
Leaders changing shift you to another shard. We have the same problem with the Friendly Alpaca, the lead leaves before everyone in the group has been and we all phase into another shard with the new lead
We were the same, summons opened up and adding as long as we could
When it despawned, were you lot thrown in the air? … we were, well it was what I observed anyway, unless something else was happening ! Lots of us were riding our new mount at that point !
