Email sent to me by em@blizzard.com

Hello! I’m asking this here because the content of the e-mail does not match the status of my account, I am a current subscriber and didn’t cancel my subscription. Yet, this message asked me to add more game time in order to continue playing.

Was this email sent by mistake or is it a phishing attempt by a cyber criminal?

I am pretty sure its a phishing attempt.

I’ve only ever had emails from blizzard for 3 reasons.

  1. To confirm that I just bought new gametime.
  2. To notify me of account actions.
  3. To notify me of a GM reply to a ticket.

Sounds pretty sus to me

Don’t click any links from the email. You can easily check your account status from the launcher or by going to the account management page (click Battlenet logo in the launcher -> My Account).

Remember that From-field can be easily spoofed so you should not rely on it to verify if the email is legit or not.

For me the Blizzard mails have been either order confirmations (they arrive shortly after each purchase) and they mention your full Battle Tag (Name#1234). Notifications about responses to the support tickets include your registered first name (“Dear Name,”). Shadowlands beta invitation just had Battle tag without the numbers.
