I’m running into a really weird issue with my Ember Court, and I could really use some serious and reasonable help.
I started working on the “Be Our Guest” achievement again after a long break, and I’ve been doing the Ember Court daily for about a week now. Today, I realized that despite my Ember Court being level 5, I only have two guest slots instead of four.
From what I’ve read, each upgrade should have given me an item (Guest List Page, blue and purple) to unlock additional guest slots, but my character (Forsakken-Stormscale) doesn’t have them. I’ve checked my bags, bank, and even ran completion commands on the relevant quests with all of them returning “true,” meaning they should be completed. Yet, I’m still missing those pages.
What’s bizarre is that these items are supposed to be indestructible, so I have no idea how they went missing. I found an old forum post where someone had the same issue, and the support was able to restore the missing Guest List Page items:
That post was from April 2024, so it seems like this was resolved for at least one person.
I reached out to the support directly earlier and I am running around in circles while being told to report it as a bug while the solution is simple: Just re-send the pages to my character.
But that is the only thing I can do here. All they are telling me is to report a bug in-game, which everybody knows makes absolutely no sense because this is not a bug.
Trust me, I am trying to escalate it, yet this is the response from the fourth GM on the matter.
We understand how frustrating it can be to encounter issues while playing, and we appreciate your patience as we work to resolve them.
Here’s what happens next:
1. Our team will review the bug report you submitted. This helps us understand the issue and its impact on your gameplay.
2.The bug will be investigated by our developers. They will look into the details you provided to identify the cause of the problem.
3. Once the issue is identified, our team will work on a fix. This may take some time, depending on the complexity of the bug.
4. We will include the fix in an upcoming patch or update. Keep an eye on our patch notes and announcements for any updates regarding the issue.
We know waiting can be tough, but please know that your report is important to us, and we are doing our best to ensure a smooth and enjoyable gaming experience for everyone.
Another response:
While I understand that you’ve seen other players receive assistance in similar situations, I must clarify that our ability to restore items is limited to specific circumstances. The “Guest List Page” items are indeed designed to be indestructible, and if they are missing from your inventory, it suggests a potential bug or oversight.
I’m sorry to hear about the issues you’ve run into with the Ember Court and related achievements.
I’m not sure I understand the reasoning here, and if it’s possible to lock yourself out of being able to complete some achievements, I would say something is bugged alright.
In fact, we’ve had other players run into this and report it as well, and the issue is being investigated:
As always though, that isn’t necessarily a guarantee it will change and if you really want to complete the achievement right now, you may want to consider using another character.
Other than that, feel free to keep an eye on the linked support article and hopefully a solution or workaround will be available in the future.
However, I’d like to point out that this directly contradicts what I was told by Blizzard support in a ticket just recently. To quote:
A workaround was proposed to start the achievement from scratch again on another toon to unlock the guest list successfully. However, we cannot verify the validity of this solution, so we can’t recommend players to try using it.
So on one hand, I’m told not to attempt the workaround, and on the other, I’m now being told it might be my only option if I want the achievement any time soon.
That kind of inconsistency is exactly what’s been so frustrating about this entire process. If this truly is a bug, then waiting indefinitely for a fix, while being refused any direct help or an actual workaround, effectively locks players out of finishing content with no clear path forward.
As I’ve said before, this issue could be resolved in seconds by simply sending the missing pages, as was done for at least one other player previously. I understand policies and technical limitations exist, but the handling here has been extremely unclear and contradictory throughout.
