Emissaries taking the P*** atm?

Emissaries were intended as catchup mechanics but it’s not working as such. There’s too much rng involved. I leveled 2 alts more than a month ago and they’ve yet to see weapon emissary (and when it does eventually show up, might not even get a good one). Also, what’s up with rings and trinkets? You have 4 slots to fill but emissaries are so so very rare. There are tons of ways to get armor from playing open world, but very few ways to get weapons/trinkets/rings.

We need to have 1 emissary a week where we can choose reward for every equipment slot. This way at least once a week you would be guaranteed to get item for a slot that you need.

Point being it’s awful and i agree with the OP,disregarding it cause in case 1.Rant for the sake and 2.(yours) Faction bias …its childish.

You are right
Tho’ I think these catchup things intended to work in tandem - BoA island gear, black empire, WQ, PvP conquest, Warfront… not just alone

Yea, 100 gold worth of vendor trash, aLLiAnCe BiAs

Dont know about you m8 but i managed to do in the past month in two weeks play to get 13 slots of 445ilvl on my pala, shmy and prist by playing emissary and Vision Invasions. It’s ridiculously fast.

Whose disregarding it? It happens to both sides all the time because RNG (take a shot lol) and they can’t ever get it right, there is no bias. Alliance had it for months now Horde has it for weeks…

We had azerite and war resources for a month let us have this.

Read b e t w e e n the lines its a problem,bad way.

Because I don’t play very often I gear up mostly through emissaries. There’s people running around with over double my health right now. It’s definitely not efficient by any means xD

It would be simpler if both factions had the same rewards.
The developers in their infinite wisdom decided it should be different.

As stated above this situation has already happened to Alliance a couple of weeks ago.
So it’s fair that the Horde has it’s turn now.
It’s also a kind of useless reward since the average player now, has 465 ILV.

My Paladin who I am trying to farm Allied races has a ILV 410 weapon which I got from the vendor.
It’s my fault because I got a ILV 445 corrupted weapon for holy spec ( forgot to change spec when getting TW reward).
And it’s not like I can’t play the game.

On the positive side: once SL launches I bet people will go on 286 ILV and they will be happier.
Why ?
Because they will get upgrades.
Unlike the max ILV players that will spend a good time without anything useful to them.

Cheers.

Who even needs 445 stuff?

offhand is headache to get for example… lots of ppl use them but for a cloth user suffering through Xanesh for Nth time is a nightamre…
That 445 a nice compromise to boost your ilvl and be accepted to a runs where you can get your paws on a decent 460

I honestly don’t think that’s arithmetically possible.

Do you mean in two weeks, or in a month, or in a month and two weeks?

Let’s assume you mean the longest period, 6 weeks.

I just took on a newcomer hitting 120 last week. He’s keen, and playing a lot, and once I told him he needed to get WQ open, and how to do that, he has been making progress. He just just opened Naz, is at about 340 now, and will open Visions and climb to 400-ish over the next week. That’s decent enough speed. Another week to 420 sounds right.

Now he’s at the point where he can improve only from Emissaries and Invasions. Vision Invasions give one piece per week, depending on your character’s ilevel, so that would be 4 pieces in 4 weeks. I think their ilevel will be the same as an Emissary.

How many gear Emissaries have there been in the last 6 weeks? There sure haven’t been two per week, on either side. Maybe 10 in 6 weeks?

At 420, he will be getting Emissary rewards like 430, 435. If an Emissary gives you a 15-point upgrade in a slot, that’s one about ilevel overall per Emissary. So how long before you start collecting 445s? Well, in the best case, where you always upgrade your lowest slot (and that is pure fantasyland!) you will want to get to 430, 435 before you start seeing 445 rewards. So at one ilevel per Emissary, and say, venturing into fantasyland again, that you see three gear emissaries per week all of which upgrade your slot by 15, that will be 12 ilevels in 4 weeks, bringing you to 432.

So, after 6 weeks, with Emissaries alone, and Lottery-winning luck, after 6 weeks you will just start to see your first 445 reward.

Not exactly fast.

The problem with the system is that it is governed by RNG. The most sensible thing would have been for the Emissaries to always be mirrored on each faction. Sadly they chose not to do this.

So we either have threads by Alliance saying the Horde have it better or vice versa. We both seem to have spates where we just get AP/Resource rewards and nothing useful for new characters like a weapon or armour.

Takes one more shot.

I still don’t understand why the rewards are not mirrored for emissaries…

again - horde has longer streak without weapons by a month compared to allience.

so no its not fair.

its broken algorythm that should have been corrected manualy if needed by devs.

there is one huge flaw.

newcomer can just do NORMAL DUNGEONS and gear up to 400 itlv in 1 evening - then do hc dungeons and get to 415 in another evening. then do a full clear of mythic 0 dungeons and fill slots with 430 gear in 2-3 evenings.

i seriously wonder do people forgot normal/hc dungeons exist at this point ?
