Empowered Abyssal Focus

To craft new recipes you need “Empowered Abyssal Focus” cant find how that is unlocked. Some one know if it’s time gated as rest off the stuff is?

It comes from the raid itself.
you need 20 eternal ornaments for the second stage.
you need 200 eternal ornaments for the third and last stage.

Lets say youve unlocked second stage. Then all your personal crafted items can now be crafted at stage 2. You do not need extra raid reagents per item as you did in the past like with dazar alor or uldir.

But in turn you only get half expulsom back when you scrap the item. so its a gamble to try to reroll them for desirable stats.

well that really sucks hard… so there is no chance to craft even heroic items before raid starts…

and neither could you for uldir or dazar alor, completely the same in that regard.

I only got q to collect 15 shards and that is it…no others!

Thats for making the initial version. These shards are bought with manapearls from an ankoan vendor.

So when the raid releases you will get access to the empowered abyss?

Or do I need to do a follow up quest like we did for the initial version?

You need to collect 20 eternal ornaments in the raid before you get access to the empowered version for heroic items. Then 200 more for the mythic version.

how do i get this quest i have created a restored abyssal focus, but how do i get this next quest it does not show up

Is the raid up? IF = No, then quest isn’t up yet.

IF = yes, quest will be up.

So you need to wait until Wednesday for the raid items to drop anyway so you can’t get this quest until then logically.

“Crafting items needs materials from raid to create the forge used in crafting”

What the hell blizzard…i was so mad when i farmed the mats only to be told i have to raid to craft it…

Previously, you needed raid mats to create each and every personal raid item.
now you only need them once. A boon for those having two crafting proffessions. Especially if one of them is an armor prof with up to 3 personal items possible.

And its true, theres more options. Benthic Gear in Nazjatar, as well craftable trinkets in mechagon.

When is estimated time to be able to craft mythic gear?

Taken from WoWhead:

LFR: 1x Eternal Ornament per wing. 3x per full clear.
Normal: 1x Eternal Ornament per boss. 8x per full clear.
Heroic: 10x Eternal Ornament per boss. 80x per full clear.
Mythic: 20x Eternal Ornament per boss. 160x per full clear.

So if you’re only running LFR raids, forget making yourself anything for about 80 weeks. Normal takes it down to about 30 weeks.
The heroic and Mythic raiders are set with this. 3 weeks for heroic, 2 for mythic. Of course that’s assuming your party let’s you teleport out to complete the second phase of the quest chain. If they don’t it’s still pretty quick.
